it is a daily deal and it is only $69 bucks!!! All opinions are welcome. My motherboard is a 4x AGP so I don't even know if it will work. Help please!

that is a cheap price for that card but before you invest in it, i would recommend going yo tomshardwareguide or anandtech to see the benchmarks etc about the card. when i put together my first pc i bought a 9200 thinking it was cheap. and it was totally a waste of money. so with graphics cards, cheaper is totally not better

it supports 4x AGP, (my 8x AGP card is in a 2x agp slot, which the card says it supports) I bought a 9200se 128mb recently, it runs Half life, The first one with the high def pack Open GL at 1XXX By 1XXX. I've heard that the 9200 runs Doom3 (doom3 box says it supports the 9200 series) Half Life 2 will run on a 9200 series according to customer reviews on other websites. (CC)

yeah i couldnti find anything on the sites i mentioned.. whoops, according to pricewatch the 9600 se is 51$. that site that has the benchmarks said that were about equals. so you could save some money by going with the 9600se

I would have to vote NO on that the 9250. Its really a card for business users. The LEAST I would go with is a 9600xt. You can get them for about $100 AR now. Microcenter has them all month for $109 AR. You should check out toms hardward guide again, as it is a great reasource. You should check out the "VGA Charts" numbers III and IV. For benchmark roundups of many cards.

Don't be suckered in with the 256mb of video memory. There is no benefit from it on low end cards.

Okay I have a Dell with a 2.2GHZ P4 512Ram and I bought and installed a Radeon 9200 128mb PCI a year and a coupla months ago. It does a good job (especially with PCI only peoples...)
9200 supports DX9 so no worries there, and can run DOOM3, HF2, and even World of Warcraft (1024x768 @ 19-28 fps) on my rig. Not the best, but for the money (and setup you may have) does an admirable job.

I have PCI as well in an Emachines 2.6GHz Celron D and 256 ram. I still have my poopy Intel integrated.

Yeah, a Mobo swtich can be risky for the inexperienced...
Also dont expect 4XFAA or AA action on newer games on that card. If you are cool with standard jaggies than go for it. Most people who bitch about these kinda cards are FAA or AA whores anyways...

The 9100 here is only $38, 9100's are rebadged 8500's, which were the best of the last generation. They outperform 9200's, and Nvidia FX5200's. They're comparable to Ti4200's.

The next step above that are the 9500/9600/9700/9800 Pro's. As you can probably guess, they get better as you go. The performance jumps a bit when you get to the 9700. This place also has a 9700 Pro for $130, I've seen better, but its not a terrible deal. If your price range is about $100, try for at least a 9600 Pro, or 9500 Pro if you have to.

Newegg's refurb section can have some very good deals, but they get snatched up within a few hours. Theres a few ok deals left, like a 9600 Pro for $80:

They also have a 9700 Pro for $126, its the exact card I own. It overclocks fairly well. I actually bought it for the same $126 in March 04, so its not quite as hot as it was then. Not a terrible deal though.

Yeah, check the charts for the 8500, and see how many more expensive cards the $38 one beats. Once in a while you can find an 8500/9100 cheaper, but thats not too bad.
