I'm really struggling with this one. It came free with my cube, but I literally cannot stand to play it because there's no hop in it.. like in the first one, I loved doing the jump + slide to get around corners.. but it's not in here. I see it's in Mario Kart DS, so that's good. Anyways, should I dump this while the value is still high? Do you think it'll go to PC next month? It's been out nearly a year now and it seems like it could drop any day, and demand seems to be pretty high.. What do you guys think?

I love MK:DD. I think it is the best Mario Kart games. If you don't like it though, then maybe you could sell it on ebay or here on CAG. You will probably get more then if you trade it in.

There is no jumb in the game?!

The game is pointless then, that's how you avoid bananas and for tight corners.

Nice job Nintendo.

Well, there's this local store (Rhino) where if you trade in two games worth at least $10 or more in store credit, you get a free new game, even stuff that isn't out yet. It's quite helpful. I was thinking of throwing another game with it and reserving something coming out in the near future, like Forza, Wrestlemania, Doom 3, etc.. I dunno.

Dave, I couldn't tell if you were being serious or joking around.. but no, there's no jump in the game. Pisses me off.

While I loved MK:DD, as I have all the Karts, if you aren't liking it then trade it off. That Rhino deal doesn't sound bad at all.

Off-topic: I prefer the original Super Mario Kart to any of the others...

How many are there? Super Mario Kart, Mario Kart 64, and this? Wait, there was a GBA version.. is that all? Just the four, and the upcoming DS port?

The hop is only half gone. You can no longer hop to avoid bananas, but you still hit the triggers for cornering.

Personally, I think MK:DD never got its fair due. I know of few better multiplayer games. The 2 v 2 is one of the best ideas ever. I have never seen a game that has caused so much fighting, both between competing groups and within groups.

The DS game is a port?

Might as well trade it in if you can get good value for it.

The took away the jump abilty because there were too many bugs in the old game where if you jump, strange stuff would happen. It takes a lot more skill (and luck) to avoid stuff now. For example, if a red shell is about to hit you, you must time a boost exactly to avoid the shell. It gets real crazy at times. MK: DD is a great game.

The fact that it doesn't have a jumb is lame. The best part of the SNES Mario Kart was jumping over walls as short cuts and to avoid the shells.

If there was bugs with the jumping then Nintendo should have fixxed them. It's nice to see they are getting lazy with their games alreound now.

I love this game, but I believe Gamerush is still giving a pretty good price for it. That Rhino deal probably beats it, though.

Why do you keep saying "jumb"?

Yeah, not being able to jumB sucks.

I loved Mario Kart 64, Super Mario Kart and Super Circuit, but this one was just a huge dissapointment to me. I thought it was going to be great, too. Trade that sucker in.

That Rhino deal sounds really good. Is the name of the store Rhino, and if so, is it national, because I have never heard of anything like that before. That would be a great deal to get my hands on.
