my problem is that it powers on and the fan goes but the cd drive doesnt move. anywhere I could take this to get fixed

There are no local repair centers anymore so the best thing you can do is call Nintendo

I wish they still had local repair centers, there used to be one like 15 mins from my house when I was a kid. It was much more convinent than sending a system in for repairs.

You could pay $50 to get it repaired professionally, or you can buy a GameBit for like $6 and fix it yourself.

You wouldn't get too much... a used GC is like $69.99, so you could probably get $50 ish by trading it in at most, and since its broken, you'd get even less (if they take it at all).
