Gran Turismo 4 [Mobile/Archive]

I was in EB the other day and noticed that the release date on the GT4 preorder boxes was listed as 3/15/05. I'm so angry because I preordered it last year, expecting it to be out in November. Does anyone have any idea if they'll be ready to release it in March or if they'll push it back yet again. If they push it back again I'm just going to rip up my preorder stub and hang myself.

The last I heard they had pushed it back to address some issues in inaccurate measurements that had cropped up. Stuff like converting inches and centemeters from the sound of it.(when you have cars from som many parts of the world measurements can be a pretty easy thing to screw up if you forget a few decimal points!)

There's also the rumor that they keep pushing it back to put in the Online Multi-player that has been giving them a lot of trouble for some reason.

Yeah, I feel your pain. I've had my preorder since November. I've expected to play this game to death during Christmas and while it's too damn cold to do anything outside. I figure that if they are going to delay it even longer then I hope they can put in the online version again. I read in the Official Playstation Magazine article that the creator of GT4 had the disc with a working online mode sitting on his desk during the interview. Whether is has online mode or not won't affect my decision to buy this game. I would have been nice but if it didn't play well it would hurt the GT franchise more than it would help it. Almost all of the online games I've played on PS2 suffer from Lag issues and being the perfectionist that PD are, I doubt they will want to release GT4 online if it had serious lag issues.

Damn it. I thought it was going to come out on the 1st of feb. Why do they keep on pushing it back?

It's the PD way, they want it to be as flawless as it can be. It'll be released, when is another matter. GT2000 was delayed from the PS2 launch until it became GT3 in July 2001.

If only KOTOR 2 got this same treatment. I'd much rather wait than play an unfinished game.

PSM says the AI is as bad as ever and upping your horse power will win you every race.

You'd think they would worry about stuff like this instead of the pretty graphics.

Yeah I'm disappointed too. But hey, they don't call it the real driving simulator for nothing.

Sounds like the same old GT formula to me. That's why online is needed in this game. Most racers have crappy AI and GT is no exception. There's nothing more challenging than racing against other people.
