Im guessing the cheapest thing t do would be to buy a ps1 and mod it, as i've yet to see a way to mod a slim ps2.

Run it on your PC with ePSXe (not sure how good the emu currently is, I haven't tried it in ages).
Buy and mod a US PSX/PSOne.
Buy a JPSX/PSOne.
Buy a JPS2.

I was under the impression that you could run imports with Gameshark or something to that effect.....

Depends on how old your PSX is.

That was with the old Gameshark and old model ps1, like the one with the extra port in the back.

Edit: Damn got beaten to the reply

I haven't tried it with a PS1 game, but my Action Replay MAX lets me play PS2 imports on my PS2. Might be worth a little investigation.

I was not aware of such a device. Intruiging.

It's weird that you would mention a PSX emulator. I was just thinking about BLEEM this afternoon and how cool it was. And also how bummed I was that I lost the 'patch' files that flollowed... I wonder if Bleem would even work on XP???

Oh yes I should have added this to a previous post, but sometimes modding a ps1 to play some import games is a bad idea, I do have an import DDR 5th mix and I get the "ERROR CONSOLE MAY HAVE BEEN MODIFIED" Error when I play it, just make sure your game isn't one of them before you blow $30+ on a modded ps1. of course there are ways to get around that, but I'm not going to discuss them here...

Yes, only thing missing is the spincecard, which I require with soundtracks but someone said they aren't that big a deal for games. :-). And yes, investigate the Action Replay MAX please :-)

How are they any less a deal with games than.. soundtracks?

Well, that's why you have a designated system (well, that's the more expensive way around it).

I've got asian Ps2 and PSX for such purposes (obviously the PSX was around before).

Well apparently a missing spine card hurts the value of a soundtrack more than it does for games? Although this game in particular doesn't matter much anyways, especially considering the price.

I am also a noob to importing, and I just have one question, is there a freeloader type thing for the new slimline PS2? I figure with it's top loading design, it wouldn't be that hard,a nd it would definately be preferable to modding the system.
