Well, my advice would be to wait for the eventual director's cut double disc set of Vol. 1 and 2. But then I just can't abide watching the Crazy-88s fight sequence in black and white again.

Best Buy will probably be selling it for $15.99 the week it comes out. Same with Circuit City usually. Not too sure if they will though. Not ALL DVDs they release at that price, usually the popular ones they do though.

I am paying 25 bucks for mine, but I also get mine a whole week early (I got connections :P)

I will also wait for Kill Bill: DC edition that will have to come out. That may should come out for the same prize or a little more. We should Just Rent it for now.

I'm personally getting the special edition when it comes out.

But FYE has a deal on the april version for 19.99-10$rebate, and early buyers get a full size poster of the bride.

whats so special about the special edition? its going to have the crazy 88 fight in color?? cmon, it was cooler in black and white, fit the movie better IMO

the special edition is suposedly gonna combine both volumes into one movie, like ti was filmed. it will also be uncut, meaning no b&w, and also some cut/edited scenes will be added. for example, i always thought the last scene (the one that speaks of systematic dismemberment) when the girl is in the wheelchair and it only shows her torso, i think that the uncut may show more there.

i know ill get flamed, but im considering kazaaing volume 1. i have some reasoning to this. i paid to see it when it was in thearters, and i will pay for it when the DC comes out. i jsut want to see it again before volume 2.

Some people want to see it as the director actually intended it, not what he had to put out to get a avoid an NC-17 rating.

well, of course i will buy a DC box set of volume 1 and 2, but that wont be out till probably christmas or 2005...so for now i will be content with this version, and just sell it on ebay later on ;)

I had a chance to buy KB vol. 1 this weekend at a local auction for $15, but I passed it up.
Tarantino always released special editions. And, I'm gonna bank on the fact that they'll release a KB vol. 1 & 2 box at some point.
I'm pumped for volume 2, though.

I just hope it does well enough so that Zatoichi can get a wide release.
