I just bought a new computer and motherboard (AMD Athlon64 2800+ and a Gigabyte K8NS) I have 512mb in pc133 i was going to use but it turns out this mobo doesn't support it. I'm looking for any deals on DDR Memory, at the prices memory runs i'm only looking to spend 50 bucks at most. maybe a little more but not too much. I want to get 512mb or dual channel 256x2. i found 256mb at newegg for 30 plus 5 bucks shipping. I want to get this pc up this weekend so B&M deals would be best but i don't mind waiting for a shipment if i get a good deal. Thanks!!

IT is going to be next to impossible to get 512 MB of PC3200 at $50 or less.
The best price on ram can be found here

If you don't mind sacrificing some speed. You can
get some PC2700 at Staples for $35 + tax after rebate

Yeah your only hope for getting a 512 stick under $50 is some type of rebate deal probably. I also have a stick of 512mb at PC133, and would like to upgrade to a gig, but I don't think its worth it since pc133 is more expensive and slower and my mobo can support up to 2700.

oh, and you can get a free aluminum heat spreader if you go here http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=1214790&CatId=1304 it looks like a piece of crap, but it might be useful if youre gonna overclock the hell out of it.

I won't buy from tiger direct. Their rebate and customer service stinks (at least that is what 99% of the people over at www.fatwallet.com have been telling me ).
Also, the cheapest shipping from tiger direct is about $9.

thanks wbc1228 and engelsg for your work and the deals. i'm going to go to staples tomorrow and see if i can talk them into taking an expired coupon by a couple of days. hopefully they will, cuz i have to by my girlfriend a present this week for her birthday. buying a new computer, mercenaries and pre-ordering Choas Theory didn't help the budget any

i bought the 512mb 2700 stick of PNY from Staples with the coupon. The cashier said that their coupons are normally in the system a week after they expire. So the coupon worked, got the mail in reabate which works with staples easy rebate program online.

I picked up a PC2100 256mb stick at my BX for only $25 yesterday. If you have any military bases close to you and have access to it, that may be an easy way for some RAM.
