Ok, so my neighbor gave me this really old joystick, but the cable that it has is really old and won't go into any of my computer's slots.
It looks like a monitor cable, and has 2 rows of pins, one with 9 and one with seven. What kind of cable is this and how can I convert it into somthing I can use.
PS: A few of the pins are missing...will it work?

Are you sure it's not a row of 8 pins and a row of 7 pins ? Soundcards used to have 15 pin D-connectors before USB became standard. You could throw an old sound card in, disable it, but keep the joystick port active.
And no, missing pins don't matter. Most VGA monitor cables don't use all the pins either, unless of course they were broken off.
