The punisher movie may not stink after all

Went to the theater to see walking tall(pretty enjoyable action flick) and I saw a teaser for the new punisher movie. Travolta looks great as the villian and it just seemed that this movie might rock. The first movie was such a travesty I want to see them get it right this time.

i always thought this looked good. and unlike what the did with spawn, punisher actually has an r rating. this is how it was meant to be. and the original had a good line

I can't take it seriously at all after hearing the line "they can't kill me...I'm already dead" from the trailer.

I gathered he ment dead inside after the death of his family. I have never followed the comic though.

I admit I'm an easy guy to please when it comes to movies I can watch just about anything. But as a long time fan of the comic the movie seems to be staying decently inline with the proper theme. I also saw eternal sunshine of the spotless today anybody seen that? very thought provoking film

Being a huge fan of the Punisher, this movie ruins many such as the as well as the logo. I don't really care about the logo that much, but the plot has been heavily modified. Originally, Frank's family gets in the crossfire of gangs, and Frank swears he'll avenge his families death. In this version, to my knowledge, gang members purposely go after Frank and his family. But I may be wrong. I am a hardcore Punisher fan, so I will see this movie regardless of what has been done to the Punisher from the comics. I didn't really like John Travolta's performence in Swordfish, but he may be able to pull off a convincing villian. if he plays his cards right.

The Punisher: They can't kill me. I'm already dead.

I thought Travolta was good in sword fish. A better role is broken arrow where he played a straight out bad guy. I also like his work in face off when he was bad. I like travolta a lot as a bad guy

Oh and Guyver I see you like wrestling. I have been to one live show and it was during the golden era of wrestlig when they had the red and black wolf pack nwo. The main event was kevin nash vs. Macho man. kevin nash looks huge in person his waist looks like it could fit like 3 normal people in there

i hate triple h so samn much...hes such a politician..but then again he is screwing the bossed daughter so you know he aint going anywhere...yea im also praying for an tna game...cant wait got legends 3 ,def jam 2, and ofcourse the next wwe games coming out

Not a huge part, but if its done anything like the comic, it'll be a memorable one. The story in the comic was about the Punisher wiping out every single assassin that a mob family sent after him, so they send for "The Russian" to whack him, a f***ing madman who lives in Kazahkstan because he likes it there. He was one of the funniest villains ever, he tries to hug a guy but ends up crushing him to death instead. Anyway the Russian and the Punisher have a huge, ridiculous fight that looks like its going to be done in the same way in the movie. The way the fight ends is priceless...

She's actually playing a character from the comics, but in the comics she was more of a mousy, petite woman. So of course they cast a supermodel for the movie :roll:

Anyway I'm looking forward to it, despite the ads making it look as cheeseball as possible (You can't kill me, I'm already dead, Punisher walking in slo-mo away from an explosion, Punisher firing two guns etc). I've noticed lately that they tend to put the worst parts of movies in the ads, go figure.

Yes, that movie was terrible.

One great scene though is when The Punisher stumbles across a room of 50 or so bad guys doing some karate training.
He mows them all down with a machine gun....it was pretty funny.

i posted this a bit ago and a lot of people had negative thoughts about it. i got my rolling stone today and it gave the film 3 out of 4 stars. rolling stone is pretty harsh with its movie reviews and hardly gives an action film such a high score maybe this film just may be decent.

I watched the 2nd Punisher trailer and I must say it looks quite awesome. I like the song from Harry Heck at the beginning of the trailer.

okay, punishers going to rule. the fight with the russian looks HILARIOS, and it has the same dry wit as the comics. plus, if you check its rating, it has "brutal violence" in it. theyre doing punisher right.

The only trailer I have seen is the one on TV...and I don't know...it just looked cheesy to me. Even Katt just looked at it and said "Wow...that looks crappy".

Mind you she knows nothing about comic book characters, but I agree with what she said.

I concur...the TV spots are quite awful. They some better marketing for that or something. This is a bit more impressive.

My guess was right after all .Caught this flick last night and I very much enjoyed it. I think it stayed quite true to the comics and the action scenes were some of the better ones I have seen in a film.
