EA's Tiburon studio, best known for Madden NFL and NFL Street, is planning to begin work on a very different sort of game -- one based on the Superman license.

The studio has posted ads on popular industry job-seeking website Gamasutra in a search for artists and level designers to work on the third-person action title. No platforms or potential release date are mentioned.

When contacted, an EA spokesperson confirmed development of the title but refused further comment, explaining that the game would be revealed in due time.

Tiburon does solid work on their games, so I wouldn't doubt that they can do the Superman license justice.

I'm not too surprised that Electronic Arts is doing another game based on a licensed property...

Well I think this is Tiburon's first non-sports game. So you really can't use their past games as a marker for how good this will be. Personally, I always thought that Visual Concepts non-sports games were a little lack-luster.

Superman seems cursed as a video game property. Even games where superman was but one of several playable characters were just awful. And at least four Superman related projects were killed before publication over the last twenty yyears.

It appears Superman is something that every big publisher has to survive as a cost of doing business.

Yeah, though it's still a game and their past ones have been very well-done, so it can still be a marker for how the Superman game can turn out.

The Tiburon team must be huge if they are able to develop so many games.

Well they do have their own studio down in Orlando, so they're pretty big.

"We've decided to place Superman in foggy London...again..." Yay!
