In the old National Lampoon tradition. They had a section in the back of each issue way back in the 70's called Spoilers. That was the first places I saw the term used that way.

Hmm thanks for the link. I already had "Million Dollar Baby" spoiled by all the (unneccesary) debate over the end and had no intention of seeing it even before I had it spoiled. Now that I read what it was about I may have to see it.
