If you don't know what the magazine is, DON'T SUBSCRIBE. Gamestate is a magazine about development that has more of a psychological and academic spin to it, as opposed to Game Developer which is more of a technical magazine.

Just because something is offered as free doesn't mean you have to take it.

Hmm...I noticed that Criterion holds the copyright on this magazine. Neato. Oh, well, sounds cool.

If you don't know what the magazine is, DON'T SUBSCRIBE.

And why exactly?

If it's FREE and someone wants to check it out they should. Are we supposed to reject the unknown?

Because there are actually people that actually know what it is and want it, or are entitled to it (in the case of the Linux App T-Shirt/gift card offer). By those not actually wanting or entitled to these items, you quite possibly are depriving those who are entitled to such benefits from getting such items by exhausting the supply.

seems like an interesting read. the making of articles could be nice, and i like technical details, like the physics engine (im a dork, i translate words into binary when bored)
