Greatest Games of all-time as voted on by CAG

[Zenithian Legend]

I wanted to do something semi-festive (and yet pointless in the end, but still fun anyway) and I decided why not have everyone list off their favorite games and then tally up the scores and create a list of CAG's favorite games. So, the length of the list will be either 50 or 100, depending on how many people feel like responding.

Here's how it'll work, each person can list off up to 10 (I know that'll be hard to narrow it down to just 10, but thou must) games. The list should be in order, and then #1 will get 10 points, #2 gets 9 points, #3 8points and so on.

Then when all is said and done I'll go through the list add things up and we'll have our favorites.

Basing my scores off of what I gave games on my IGN gamelist. There are certain games that had improved versions and/or prequels, like Halo, but I felt the sequels were better. That's just nostalgia talking, OoT was the best Zelda, followed by links Awakening.

The NES version sucked, and LttP was the first real good Zelda game.

That is why everyone loves LttP and the NES Legend of Zelda, they came first and were not judged next to the future Zelda games, and when you played the newer games you still had that nostalgic feeling for the old games.

Ya know, videogames existed prior to 1990. Let me give you some examples:

I said that it's MY opinion that FF7 doesn't belong in the top 10. ----- It's my opinion, that if you're going to list Final Fantasy, don't list 7. There are better versions of FF out there (like 10, 9, 6, 4, or even 5).

IMHO the only FFs that are worse than 7 are the original NES ones (1/2/3-original numbering). Everything else is superior.




As for older games, I didn't say anybody was wrong there either. I was just trying to *remind* people that there was a whole world of GREAT games prior to the Super Nintendo. When you look at some people's lists, it's as though videogames never existed prior to 1990! I just wanted to remind them about the great 70s & 80s games:

Ms. Pac-Man, Missile Command, Adventure, Haunted House, Defender 2, Elite, The Original Pirates, Karateka, Breakout, Combat, The Original Mario Bros



And while you're right, some of these games only hold your attention for 30-60 minutes per session, they have infinite replayability. Like crack, you get addicted, and they keep drawing you back for more! I've been playing Pac-Man for nearly 25 years! (Show me a modern game with that longevity... very few... DDR, Monkey Ball, and that's about it.)

I gave it a top pick b/c it started the craze, and I have the fondest memories with it. My friends and I would hold Pokemon tournaments every week to see who was the best. I ended up on top and got to gloat for the rest of the year. :applause:
