And this is probably way far fetched, but do you know if I can play Cannon Fodder and/or Rampart(both for the GBC) without the horrid buzzing sound that I get when I play it on my GBA or SP. :cry:

I know you can play GB and GBC games, I can't vouch for Cannon Fodder or Rampart's issues though.

I'll third the confirmation of being able to play GB/GBC games on the Gameboy player. I've done it.
