View Full Version : CAG via WAP

So I was thinking something at work today, since our firewall won't allow CAG to come through and I'm also at school at night during the week. Wouldn't it be great if there were a WAP version of CAG, where you could easily check it on your cellphone? Maybe I'm one of the few (if not only) who would actually use it, but I'm rarely home to check things. Since TRU, BB, EB, and Gamestop are 2 miles from the office, I'm well within strike range in terms of lunch break response time on game deals. I'm not that familiar with WAP, and I've tried to set up a couple of WAP pages before, but it would kick ass in my opinion.

I'm not sure if it's the same thing, but I know there is a stripped-down version of CAG for cell phones. Cheapy uses it for his SKII.

What about an autotxter? I could probably have a friend write a program that automatically sends a txt message out to cell phones or something (since stuff like this is on Verizon's site) for hot deals.. or I could manually do it or something. The only people's cell #'s I have here are Guessed and StealthySeal, though.

I've tried to go to CAG through cheapassgamer.com on my Sprint cellphone, but it runs slow and won't allow login. I believe the Sidekick works much better for webpages than cellphones (plus it has a keyboard, instead of pressing numbers multiple times to type a word). I'd get one if I didn't hate T-mobile so much.

Did you try selecting the Mobile template in your Profile (http://www.cheapassgamer.com/forum/profile.php?mode=editprofile)?

Do you mean you can't stay logged in?

I have a SK2. I stay logged on, but it keeps defaulting back to the standard i.e. non-mobile profile after saving my settings.

Are you sure you are staying logged in?
The only way I could see it going back to the CheapAssGreen template would be if you were not really logged in.

Hmm.. maybe its the way I'm testing it? I browse to a topic and then go back to the profile screen, and it says its still Cheapass green,even after I've changed it. I set the checkbox to login automatically though.

It sounds like its not saving the cookies.
I heard it works better if you use the full url (including www).

Change the template on your PC first if you wish.
