Anywhere to get MGS2:Substance for PS2 BRAND NEW?

I bought this game when it first came out, but sold it a year ago. Now I want it again. Anywhere I can get it BRAND NEW for $30 or less?

Well, I can get it new on XBOX for $15....but I really want the PS2 version badly.

Well, it would be great to get one brand new, because I can be guaranteed that it will come with a manual and everything, and no scratches what so ever.

That's the main reason I want it new.

No, I've seen plenty myself. It really wasn't that hard to find at least not until the release of MGS3.

Yeah, I'm sorry, amigo, but unless you travel back in time a few months to the $5 Circuit City sale (where I got my copy of MGS2:S), you probably won't come across a decent price on a new copy, at least not from any major stores...

It's more than controls - the XBox version, according to reviews I've read, has spurts of slowdown and choppiness issues due to a lack of graphics optimization. Since it was designed for the PS2 in the first place... just saying, it's more than the analog face buttons.

It only had slowdown at the beginning in the rain. Why does everyone keep commenting about analog face buttons, they're analog on XBOX too!

get a ps2 to xbox controller converter and that will solve your problem.

Sorry dude, but you're going to have a hard time finding this game cheap. I picked up 2 copies at a Bigg's for $19.99 a couple of weeks ago (there's a topic about it on the deals page somewhere), but this was complete luck. I sold each of them for $102.50 and $81 respectively. I'm all for helping fellow CAG's out, but it's going to be hard to find someone that's going to give you one of these for less than $30 when they are going for so much on eBay.

It was a royal pain in the ass to find the copy that I got (on clearalce at Best Buy for $14.95), last summer (actually, I'm kicking myself about that sale, since they had a couple copies of Resident Evil 3 and CVX for the game cube, for about $20 each)

It might actually be cheaper to just buy a japanese PS2 and import it along with the new MGS3/MGS2 substance bundle:

Well, I guess since I can't get it for $30, then I guess I'll raise it a bit. I'd be willing to pay $40, since I really want this game so badly. (I swore never to pay $50 for a game again :P)

Like I said, it would be really awesome if I could get it new, but if I could get a complete new in really good-mint condition, then I'd be really happy for that too!

My advice is to try looking at stores that don't sell through their inventory as often as other stores. I would try K-marts, Hastings if you have them, or even Walmarts. Sometimes Walmart stacks games on top of each other and noone can see what every game is behind that glass. Have an employee with a key open it up and physically check behind the stacks of games and you might get lucky! I found one used at a Gamestop a few weeks ago for $20 and considered myself lucky and bought it.

If you can find an EBGames that has it new, it is only $20 regardless of what the pricetag says. I found one a few months back, it was the display copy so not sealed, but it was perfectly mint for $20.

I wish they'd do a reprint on Substance. I finally bought a copy used but would also like to have a new copy. Ah well. I copy I got looks perfect in direct light, but you can tell looking from the side that there's minor scratches where someone didn't wiped the disc clean with a non-abrasive cloth. It plays fine, but I tend to be a perfectionist on such things. :(

Still, I'm more than happy I found it, period. I got it at GameStop for ~$19 after 10% discount + tax.

Also, if you use cheat devices like CodeBreaker, you'll have to have the PS2 version. That might not mean a lot to some of you, but for us cheaters, it makes all the difference.
