Questions for those who've played these games:
Godzilla Destroy All Monster Melee -- I haven't seen a new copy of this in my town since I got my Cube, so I picked it up for $10 when I went to an out-of-town TRU today. But is it worth it? Reviews seems mixed, and I've read a number of complaints about the controls. I do a lot of multiplayer, but my crowd hasn't really fallen for Super Smash Bros. Melee, and that seems to be the superior four-person brawler. DAMM sounds fun, but it's not like I'm a big gojira otaku, so it wouldn't be hard for me to return it. I don't think I'll find it this cheap again (EB and Gamestop sell it for $18, even though the resale value at EB is only $3), so .... Anyway: Worth it? How much replay value?
Resident Evil -- I was flipping though a cheat code book and, during the RE entry, I read something to the effect of, "To unlock blah blah, play the game on Once Again mode and beat it in under three hours." I haven't played video games hardly at all for the past 10 years, and I love that the Gamecube is letting me catch up on some of the best games I missed, like Ocarina of Time and Metal Gear Solid, so I'm excited to get Resident Evil for $10 (BB with GGC). But I don't care how good it is -- if it can be beaten in three hours, I don't think I'm interested. Is there something special about Once Again mode that makes the game shorter? How much play time can I expect from this title? How much replayability does it have?
Thanks.

Resident Evil took me about 13-14 hours to beat.

Regarding DAMM: Very good for multiplayer. The single player kinda...sucks. Replayability? As long as you have a crowd then it should last you a while.
Regarding REMake: Good luck in beating it in under 3 hours. I've played through both Chris and Jill missions and both provide ample playtime. I'd say under 7 hours per character if you absolutely must kill everything and you've never played an RE game before. Nothing is special about once again mode that makes it shorter. You just need to run like hell through the game in order to complete it in under 3 hours. I still to this day replay REMake, so ymmv on the replay value. It's really up to how much you like the game.

Resident Evil took me about 13-14 hours to beat.
I agree. Also, the two character choices make the game different, though I'm not sure how different they are (I haven't played through it with Chris). The 3 hour unlock is clearly a speed-finish bonus, since I can't imagine getting through the game on the first try in 3 with no hints or prior knowledge. No way.

Multiplayer in DAMM is great, but the single player isn't that good. You need to play the SP to unlock monsters and levels, but I think there are cheat codes to unlock the monsters and levels if you don't want to play the SP.

it's sunday, bro.
and both games are great! keep'em both.
remake is a graphic powerhouse. the 3 hr thing is if you have unlimited ammo with a special weapon. good luck with the speed run, it ain't easy. (i finished with chris)
god-damm is a fantastic multiplayer. the control complaint is not valid, cause these are gigantic monsters, moving about. plus, there's the run button to speed things up if you think walking is too slow. (i finished with all monsters on medium)

I think DAMM is actually better than the new Godzilla: Save the Earth, but I guess if GCN is your only console you don't have a lot of choice. Basically, the monsters look better in DAMM. They appear dumbed down (less detail, less menacing, smaller, etc.) in Save the Earth, so you're not missing a whole lot by sticking with DAMM.

actually all you have to do is beat it in under 5 hours to get the real surivor mode and the Samurai Edge gun. It's pretty easy to do if your used to the controls and you know exactly what to do from start to finish. I beat the game in 7 (each character so 14 hours) and change first time through, but that's largely do to the fact that I've played the original resident evil on the playstation more than 10 times and know it like the back of my hand, with the exception of a few things it's pretty much the same game. Most Resident Evil games don't take more than 10 hours to beat and no less than 6 (depending on your skills), i've beaten every RE game (yes I've played them all) in less than 10 hours for all except Resident Evil 4 (17:34:04). Resident Evil Re-Make is an amazing game (as far as RE games go), so put in the disk, turn up the sound, turn off the lights and enjoy!
