I know it's blasphemous, but there are just some games I am willing to pay full price for, just because I know I'll enjoy them and can't wait for a price drop. I'm sure some of you are no different.
here's my list:
1. The next in the Mana (Square) series
2. Mother 1+2 GBA or the next Mother game
3. The next Shadow Hearts game (gotta support Nautilus in their RPG revolution)
4. The next Fire Emblem (GBA. I'm not too sure about the GC version)
What games from which series would you plonk down full retail for?

None. I've learned my lesson.

It's going to be trade in credit, but I'm buying God of War at launch.
EDIT: Have to add FF12.

Maybe trade-in credit, maybe cash, but I must have Wrestlemania XXI, Doom 3 LE, and Unreal Championship 2 on the days they launch.

I think the last time I ever payed full price for a game was: Final Fantasy VII. jep the Full $49.99 plus taxes. And I didn't ever regret it. I did get halo 2 LE for $54.99, but I used store credit for dat.
I usually wait for sales or price drops. even $5 off or sumthing. paying retail is for suckers.
But now I became even more of a cheap ass. Like you won't even believe. My friends always asked me "why are you so cheap?" I would say "the money I save, I could buy more games then you" LOLz.

Nothing in the horizon that I would pay full price for, but if Mother 1+2 came to the US or Chrono Trigger or Seiken Densetsu 3 were ported to the GBA, I'd seriously think about it...

Far as I know there are three games that I will pay full price for this year.
SF: Anniversary Collection (Xbox Live, yay!)
Stella Deus (SRPGs own me)
Pump it Up: Exceed (June seems so far)
These genres usually end up calling me their bitch when it comes to paying premium for them.

I guess Guild Wars is the only upcoming game that I'm going to straight out pay full price for at launch. There are several more that I'm getting at launch, but I'm using either the EB trade-in deals, or the always running Rhino trade-in deal to get them. I usually average no more than $25 for new releases. ;)

Zelda, and my wife will probably want to pay full price for the first good DDR game for the Cube. In both cases hopefully we'll pay for it with cheapass credit (a la TRU-to-EB credit).

To the OP : whens mother 1+ 2 or the next mother game supposed to be out?

Might have to buy the new KOF collection that just came out. $40 for a slick 2-disk set doesn't seem like such a bad deal for me.

GT4 for sure. 600+ cars to unlock and 150+ tracks to master. This one is worth it IMO. Ok, so I have a CAG weakness when it comes to racing titles.
Oh, and I seem to always pay full price for PS2 RPGs. I want to show my support for the genre and we all know the PS2 is the system for RPGs.

Mother 3 is currently slated for a JPN release later this year. No word on a NA release...

By full price do you mean $50 or whatever price a game releases at? I may get Mega Man Anniversary Collection for Xbox for $20 when it releases, but I will never pay $50 for any game. I did, however, do the trade 5 for 1 deals for Wrestlemania XXI and Splinter Cell Chaos Theory at EB this weekend.

^ Agreed. I got Katamari Damacy and MM:AC for full price, at $20 and $30, respectively.
I have way too big of a backlog to think about paying over $30 for a new game. The games will be just as fun regardless of when you buy them, with some exceptions for online play.

I've already paid full price to preorder Wrestlemania 21, and I'll probably pay full price for the new Zelda coming out for GC. Maybe Midnight Club 3 for PS2 also.

Pump it Up: Exceed (June seems so far)
Is that going to be sold with Pump pads as well? I hope USB pads work, since I have an official Andamiro Pump pad for the PC.
And the games I'll pay full price (minus $5, courtesy of the GGC, of course) are DS and GBA games, since they rarely drop after their release.

I'll pay full price for Zelda '05. I might pay full price for the Capcom Classics collection, depending on what games are included. Once I get through the backlog of unopened games I have, I'd gladly pay the $30 for Alien Hominid.

I stand alone on this one probably, but Dynasty Warriors 5 will be my next full price purchase. Going to GameStop this Friday to put in my pre-order.
Beyond that, I don't see anything coming out for a while that I'd lay down $50 for unless there was a great bonus/pre-order deal.
Any Atlus or working designs RPG

...I'm buying God of War at launch.
After playing the demo, I can see why. I should show my support for an original game by doing the same, but in the end I know that I will probably be too much of a cheapass :D

I have my eye on GT4, and with some extra money from a very frustrating experience with EB, I may end up picking it up. The next Madden and NCAA games will probably be must-haves. MVP Baseball 2005 will be mine with that $30 price tag. Probably some more that I'm forgetting.

I'll be getting that at launch, but by using some trade in deals. :)

For games in the near future...
Jade Empire LE
Devil May Cry 3
Shin Megami Tensai: Digital Devil Saga (no way I'll wait on this one and take the chance of it getting sold out)
In the distant future...
Kagero II: Dark Delusion
ViolentLee

Quite a few, actually, though I'll probably use store credit on some of them:
Wario Ware: Touched
Wario Ware: Twisted
Animal Crossing DS
Jade Empire (though hoping for a Microsoft hookup)
Metal Gear Ac!d
Lumines (PSP)
Luckily, I can write off any game-related stuff I buy, so it's not quite as bad.

0.
I have games I have yet to play...why pay full price for anything if you still have stuff to play. The only thing I ever consider grabbing for full is the new Madden game because I'm pretty pumped when the new football season starts. But I never pay the full price, I'll use a GGC or wait for a deal a couple of weeks down the road.

Ever game that is related to Xenogears. :D I know that xenosaga II price will drop in two months but I don't mind paying full price. I'm also planing to pay full price for the shin megami tensei: Digital devil games. I just got a semi-good deal on Nocturne. Got it for $40 shipped at overstock! :D

My brother is paying full (or more like I am) so you're not totally alone.
The only game I can think of paying full is Kingdom Hearts 2 and sorta Guild War coming out =T. Fire Emblem is what my brother wants to pay for full x.x. Also.. whenever Chulips is out.. x.x...

I'm assuming since this is the first of the series to be published for home consoles in this country (for both PS2 & Xbox) it will come with bundled pads. Honestly, I am not entirely certain since this was just announced on Mastiff's (http://www.mastiff-games.com/) website. The one thing I am sure of is online play for Xbox!
Damn I forgot about Chulips, the new Zelda, and Digital Devil Saga. Guess this will be an expensive year after all. This year will be a test on trying to hold out on a lot of fun things. :x
Others I will probably get Day 1 will be Phantom Dust & King of Fighters 02/03 (Xbox Live!). Never has the Xbox looked so good with its lineup.

Grand Turismo 4. Tekken 5. Already paid full for Shadow Hearts: Covenant.
Good stuff. Will pay full in future for all 2d castlevanias.

I recently paid full price ($30) for Alien Hominid, but I just can't bring myself to pay $50 for anything anymore. I had planned to pay $50 for GTA:SA, but got in on the Outpost.com preorder $35, free ship deal thanks to this site.
I've been tempted to buy Mercenaries: Playground of Destruction, but I've shown enough restraint to hold off. The only other upcoming games that will test my will are:
1. God of War
2. Wanda and the Colossus
3. Dreamfall (PC game- sequel to The Longest Journey)

Gran Turismo 4
new Zelda
Mario 128
whenever the new Super Mario Bros. sidescroller comes out for DS - definitely.
Don't think there are any for me.
I'm patient enough to wait for the games to drop in price.
Maybe if I had Xbox Live, I'd want to pick up the new releases when they were still fresh and getting a lot of action. But I don't, so I don't care if a game is 3 years or 3 weeks old as long as it's fun.
But, I suppose I can't say it would never happen. Jade Empire is the next game coming out I could potentially crack for.

I'm buying Doom 3 with my friend (for online co-op), and I really want Area 51, but I'm not sure I'll lay down the cash for it. As for games already out, I want Mercenaries and Alien Hominid baaaad.

The Legend of Zelda
Guild Wars
Ys: Ark of Napishtim (and I don't even have a damned PS2 right now)
I'll probably pick up Unreal Championship 2 at release if it gets good reviews.
