View Full Version : Question about GBA games on EBay
I was browsing through EBay and I came across a seller with GBA games Buy It Now for 10 bucks each. The seller is located in Hong Kong, so it's more than likely that the games are bootleg. The pictures of the games do have boxes thought, but then GBA boxes are pretty easy to replicate I suppose. I was wondering how bad are bootleg GBA games? Some the games on there can't be found that cheap any where, so I'm considering caving in and buying. Any opinions would be much appreciated.

"How bad"? You're paying for illegal material.

I was wondering the same thing. I saw a bunch of those in Bazil for sale, but didn't buy any. Do they work just like a normal GBA cartidge?

I assume you're asking about game quality, I've never had a bootleg but I've heard the carts crap out after a few months and the battery saves for games usually don't work well.
As far as morally I believe it's just plain wrong, but that's something you have to decide for yourself.

I've heard that bootlegs internal battery (the one that keeps your save) does not last as long as a real cartridge. There is not much visually wrong and it plays like a normal GBA cartridge.

If you're getting a bootleg GBA game, you might as well download a ROM and play it on your PC.

Look............ don't support these @$$Holes!!!!
If you're going to partake in piracy,... just download the dump online.
At least someone isn't asking for money for it.
Play it for a few hours, and then erase it.
Like a rental.
I'm not for this either,.... but it's better than fueling the Axis of Evil.
:(
Yeah I can see the point that I shouldn't support bootleggers but I've been trying to look for Breath of Fire for a while and it seems the price always sky rockets cause it's somewhat rare.
Don't buy bootlegs if you know they are bootlegs. That's one of the stupidest things I've heard in quite some time. If you want to waste $10 you can send some my way...

Personally, I could care less about not giving the companies that have taken thousands of my dollars over the years my money. I see little difference between buying bottlegs, and buying the actual games %90 off at Toy's R Us or the hundered other was many a CAG gets their games.
The reason I wouldn't buy a bottleg is because the large chance it won't work.

Yeah I know, I just bought up 2 because it's so hard to find. I'd sell you my snes cart but it's on the other side of the state.

The point of bootlegs is to get them for free. It's stupid enough to pirate this shit, but pay for it? That's really stupid.

Yeah, they're not worth the plastic cartridges they're in.
