I have not tried it either, so I'm interested to hear what they're like. It's Walmart, so they should be reliable. I just don't know how great their selections are. (I'm looking for those rare Criterion DVDs to rent)
By the way, the link above didn't show me a free trial. Am I supposed to click on "Continue" to see it?
(edit) nm, I see it now. Sorry.

^^ Cool, thanks. I never knew that. I thought Hollywood video would be more mainstream. I'll check it out.

I've been using the Wal-Mart service for about a month now & have squeezed 12 rentals out of them in that time. Of course, I live in Arkansas - so the transit time is really short.
No complaints here - I think I'm going to keep them after my 30 days are up.

Wal-mart is SLOW. Netlfix has atlot more shipping centers around the US. It took about 3 days for me to receive my dvds and 3 days to send it back. A couple years ago, netfilx was this slow as well, but since they now have a distribution center in houston, I received the dvds the next day. I tried both the 14 day trial from netflix and the 30 day trial from walmart, and I was able to squeeze 12 rentals from each. I like how walmart offers a free 30 day trial, but they really need more distribution centers if they want to catch up to netflix.

netflix has 23 centers in the usa.
i would just guess that they are in major cities in 23 states.
i got my first 2 fast so ill wait and see.
The price for 4 out is only 21.88 + tax
compared to 5 out with netflix for 29.99 + tax
The 4 deal is alot better and only walmart has a 4out option.

If Wal-Mart was a person it would be an old man and people would leave burning bags of dog shit on his front steps and rob him when he went away on vacation.

i just got an email today from netflix stating that there subscription services are going to be rising .
"Beginning June 15, 2004, we will be raising the prices of all our subscription programs. Your plan, the Netflix 5-at-a-time program, will change from $29.95 per month to $33.99 per month. "
Thankfully walmart has shown to be just as fast as netflix and cheaper.
4 out for 21+tax compared to 33.99 for 5 out with netflix.
goodbye netflix.
