Hey Guys,
Im looking to buy a new graphics card for my Dell 8300 system. It currently has a nVidia GeForce 4 MX420 or the equivilent free junk. Anyhow I was looking at the ATi Radeon 9800XT AGP card and then I noticed the X600 w so hich looked newer but then it said that it was PCI-Express so i dont know if my motherboard supports it or not. I know that ive got a AGP x8 port and about 5 spare PCI slots but i dont know if that means that the PCI-E thingy will work on it or not. If not could someone suggest a good, cheap 256mb graphics card with high clock speed, at least 128 bit or whatever, just a decent graphics card. My budget is around £100.00 and I dont mind buying from ebay.
Thanks
Olly

you'd have to check the specs on your mobo, if there's no pci-e slot, no pci-e love for you

best deals are mostly on www.newegg.com and www.zipzoomfly.com

best o luck with that

I'm almost positive your machine does not support PCI-E.

AFAIK no company makes a mobo with both a PCI Express and AGP slot.

If you have agp you don't have pci express, pci express is the replacement for agp.

No PCI Express for you. You'll have to stick with AGP.

Ive had a look around and the best one i thing i can get is the ATI Radeon 9600 XT 256mb. It looks quite good and fits my budget. Please tell me what you think. Thanks! :D
