Every character in games, you say?
Name 10 gay characters in video games. Not ones you think are gay, not ones with slightly homosexual overtones, I mean characters that are fully, unabashedly, gay. With the number of new games being released, and given that "they want to make every character in games gay now", surely naming 10 won't be hard.

That review seems to be half legit, half gay conspiricy. Im there is more sexually equality in games now... I dont mind some girl girl action :P. I just wish for less Girlyboy looking characters, just like some gay people want less typical stright guy characters. Altough Solid Snake is sorta well...you know

There's a little homosexuality in the Fallout II for PC depending on how you play it. One instance is a Farmer with a son and daughter and you can marry either if you're character is female but only the daughter if your character is male (can you say double standard?). You can also become a porn star in New Reno (and honestly what budding pornographic actor doesn't do a little gay work starting out?)
I don't think it really means anything though. Movies, books and TV depict homosexuality on a regular basis, it's no suprise that it crops up now and again in video games.
"They're here, they're queer and they're- uh gamers? :? "

I thought male characters in Fallout 2 could also marry the farmer's son? All I remember is that once I got to that part and was forced into the shotgun wedding, I went apeshit and killed everything.

While I think purposefully inserting that kind of overt homosexuality in games is both unnecessary and excessive, the only people that would get truly offended by this are homophobes (who, as studies seem to indicate, are often in a state of tackling their own latent homosexual feelings and tendencies).
So try not to sound too disgusted by this. It's a game...don't make it into a bigger issue than it is, and certainly don't hate a game developer for being more inclusive of an often discriminated-against minority.

I don't know about you guys, but I want more spousal abuse in videogames. A level where your girlfriend starts yelling that you hang out with your friends too much in a restaraunt, and your goal is to smash her face in your salads? Man, that'd be sweeeeeeeet.

I'm actually more opposed to gay marriage in video games than one would think. It's not that I'm opposed to gay sex, but I just think that for the most part sex doesn't belong in videogames. It's different in movies, because those have more complex characters/plot, but basically all videogames are about saving the world, a princess, or stopping some evl lord from taking over. Any references to sex would just seem ill placed. There are exceptions of course, like having sex with prostitutes in Grand Theft Auto: Vice City to regain lost health was a stroke of genius. But for the most part, making any character gay in a videogame just seems like a cheap ploy screaming, "Hey, look at me! I'm sooooo PC!" It could be done well, if they left the homo-eroticism subtle like in films from the 1930s, but I don't have enough faith in videogame writers to expect subtlety in any way, shape, or form.

The article doesn't say anything about sex, just marriage. It's a T-rated game, so I doubt there's any explicit sex scenes (gay or straight) in it.
I don't see why there shouldn't be more homosexual characters in videogames. So the princess gets rescued by another princess, big deal. It's not like it's going to drastically change the gameplay.

I hope that was a joke. If not, you are no better than any white supremicist KKK asshole. All straight, white, Christian males are evil near-Hitler bastards? Everyone with a 6th grade education knows what Hitler did, you don't have to bring it up in response to someone talking about homosexuality in a videogame. That's the biggest leap I've ever seen.
I don't particularly care either way if a game is going to include the OPTION for gay marriage or whatever. That's perfectly fine. I'd be a little disturbed if it was a forced thing, and actually had an affect on gameplay... but otherwise, who cares? Video games don't matter. They aren't real. Don't bring up generation-shattering events in response to this. That's classless and stupid.

Actually they tried to forcibly sodomize the angels in disguise. So all that tells you is that God doesn't like rape, which I doubt comes as a surprise to anyone.

Yeah, pretty much the same thing. They tried to have sex with the angels, but Lot offered his two virgin daughters in their place, but the men wanted the angels. So the angels cast blindness on them.
Plus, the angels were there to investigate the sins of Sodom and in the next morning to cast God's judgement on the city. They were also sent to try to save Lot.
If what you said were true, then why would God have sent the angels there in the first place? The truth is because God was going to judge the city even before they sinned by trying to rape the angels.
But even after the men of the city tried to "rape" the angels, the angels struck them blind to offer them one last chance to repent.

Hah, I wish I could say I am. I am a Christian, but for some damn reason I just can't seem to live like one. I really wish I could get rid of some of the things I do, but I just don't want to. Anyone who's trying to find a Christian to live their life by should probably find someone else.
I just hate it when Christians ridicule non-Christians for the way they live their life, then go and when no one is looking do the exact same thing. I believe it's that hypocrisy that turns a lot of people away from Christianity.

Sodom & Gamorrah was burned for sins.. not necessarily homosexuality. From the King James version of the bible...
Genesis 19:13 - For we will destroy this place, because the cry of them is waxen great before the face of the LORD; and the LORD hath sent us to destroy it.
That is the only mention of why the city was destroyed. Applying that to mean it was destroyed for homosexual behavior is pure homophobia.

Actually, in Gen. 13:13, it says "the men of Sodom were wicked and sinners before the LORD exceedingly."
Also in Lev 18:22, it says "Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it [is] abomination."
Then a few verses later it states, "For whosoever shall commit any of these abominations, even the souls that commit [them] shall be cut off from among their people."
Lev 18:30 - "Therefore shall ye keep mine ordinance, that [ye] commit not [any one] of these abominable customs, which were committed before you, and that ye defile not yourselves therein: I [am] the LORD your God."
So, that should be proof enough of what God thinks about homosexuality.

Correct me if I'm wrong (I'm not a Christian and haven't read most of the Bible), but isn't that particular book in the Bible the same one that has laws against things like wearing clothes made from two different fabrics and looking at a woman who has her period? It seems to me like that book describes laws that made sense for that particular time and culture, but don't necessarily apply to today's world. (By "that book," I mean Leviticus, or however it's spelled, not the Bible as a whole.)

Well, if you see those little quotes at the beginning and end of the sentences, it means someone said them. In this case, it was God who said it, and not some Pharisees, Sadducees or some other crazy man who said them.
Don't get me wrong, though. I really don't care that much if people choose to be gay or not. I do believe it's wrong, but it won't alter the way I treat people who are gay. To be honest, I have a few gay friends, and they are some of the nicest people in the world. I also don't preach at them and tell them their lifestyle is wrong. Instead, I just choose to be their friend.

It also says that the man should die if he cheats, too. It says that both people who commit the adultery should die.
It went the same for both men and women. The Bible doesn't tell us to be more hard on women than men. Especially in the the New Testament, which also brought a new covenant between Man and God when Jesus came.
Before then, it was also against the law to eat pork, but Jesus said it was okay to eat it. That was just one of the new things of the new covenant.

Gay characters in games don't bother me at all-I mean, most people don't have trouble playing a game in which the player character is female-So why should they have a huge problem with playing a character who's a homosexual? If it's over-the-top-flamboyance, and there just to be there, then there is a problem-but not because of the subject matter, but because of the way in which it's presented, in my opinion.

Sodom and Gomorrah (sp) is a poor example - shortly after the chapter of smiting is a chapter (Ammonites and Moabites) where Lot's daughters get him drunk and screw him in order to impregnate themselves and continue their line - aka - incest.
The Bible is a one-sided tome riddled the the fears of a one-sided ideology that came from the pen's of similarly minded men and not God.
