I guess it comes out tomorrow. Hopefully by next week I will have an Xbox. Probably will pick this game up, even though I already own it.

Only thing that sucks is that the Nuby controllers do not come out until April. I hate the Xbox D-pad, so I might not play all that much until I get a Guile controller in my hands

Thanks to Battosai1002 for the list:

'm going to compile a list of Street Fighter Xbox Live tags. I won't be on for a few weeks, but thought this list might be nice when I do start playing. Post which game you'll be playing and whether the current tags on here are correct or not (I assumed a few). I put the unknowns in the both category for now. I'll edit this as people post.

yea i'm going to be playing it most likely tomorrow unless college and hwk pwned me lol. i heard arikado and ledhed will be playing sf:ac as well while we were playin halo 2 so i have a lil competition from them. i'm mostly be playin the hyper street fighter II online as i tried to learn 3rd strike offline since i never played the sf3 series. i hope the online lag isnt as bad as capcom vs snk 2. hopefully i can handle the s controller's d-pad since i can handle marvel vs capcom 2 very well with it. i hope u guys can post ur gamertags so we could play each other online.

I already got Guilty Gear Reload, MK:D, DOA Ultimate, Capcom versus Snk 2 and even SVC Chaos? Is there any fucking doubt In me picking up SF:AC? Fo real! I had this shizit pre-order for SEVEN MONTHS with free three day shipping from EBgames. I hope to see y'all on live down the road, just don't expect me to be yapping cause I got the nuby controller with convertor, and I rather use that controller over the XBox, even if it means no voice.

I'll be getting it eventually, not sure if sooner rather than later. Even at $30 with Live capabilities, it's still a rehash of 2 games I already own to some extent, so Tekken 5 gets priority here.

Maybe if it goes on sale somewhere next week.

I believe they held the release date back (originally both versions were to be released around the same time) because they felt the Xbox version needed some more tweaking on Live and such. I've been waiting for this game since they announced it. It should be worth the wait. :D

Times have a'changed and, as fondly as we remember Street Fighter, we can't help but look upon it like an old dog. You love it but if it pisses on the floor one more time you'll put it down

To add some spruce, this collection is online compatible and you can play any fighter against any other, whether it's Ken from the original SFII or Turbo Edition Ken with his extended Dragon Punch. But beyond that, very little has changed; it's all just been opened up and laid bare. Every SF character is here, but they're still animated at a framerate which these days wouldn't make submission.

Thankfully, despite the clearly creaking gameplay, the Xbox controller deals well with the demands of the multi-button combos, leaving your thumbs mildly aching rather than crippled (handy when those car-smashing levels have been included again), and there is a certain sense of feeling like a kid again when you get Blanka to frazzle his opponents, but we've grown up and moved on, just as this series should have done. Catching up with Chun Li and chums is fine and the replay value is bolstered by the chance to play all the character variations but it's one strictly for nostaligia buffs.

WORST. REVIEW. EVER.

What does "clearly creaking gameplay" mean exactly? They gave the game 5/10.

If it's any consolation... I saw the shirt up close and it was pretty ugly (assuming its the same one they were giving away with the PS2 version).

So is this really coming out this week? I thought it was supposed to, but it wasn't featured in any of the weekly ads. Although one of the stores advertised the PS2 version for this week, oddly enough.

About SF1, anybody remember that some of the cabinets came with two oversized rubbery buttons per player, one for punch and one for kick, that you had to actually pound on? Hit it hard for a hard punch, light for a light punch, etc.? I seem to remember this from when I was young, but I'm not sure if I'm confusing it with some other game.

I myself have never seen one of these, but I have heard numerous reports about them. So you're not imagining things. As I understand it, early units had the two big masher buttons and later cabinets had a normal 6-button setup.

Apparently Capcom's definition of "very easy" differs greatly from mine. I'm playing SF2 and i'm getting the holy shit kicked out of me.. which makes no sense, because I was playing SF2 last night (SNES) and owning up the place. It's on very easy and the computer doesn't even give you a chance to get up.. pissing me off.

THIS GAME IS UN FUCKING BELIEVABLE! Zagnief doing a piledriver that takes out 75% of my health!? EXCUSE ME, it barely even took 15% in SF2! What teh FUCK is going on with this. I'll get him down to where there's literally no life in his bar and he somehow magically comes back and wins. I'm almost ready to break this fucking CD in half. I'm going to head on to XBox Live here in a second.

Hands down the cheapest game i've played this year. I just played Dee Jay and he'd fire off something and i'd throw a fireball to counter it with Ryu.. and then, somehow, magically, Dee Jay fires off another, another and another in rapid succession. Keep in mind that this is on normal. I'm trying it on easiest right now, yet it still seems like it's set on hard. They block almost everything.

//edit, this is gay. Blanka literally gave me no chance to even get up and decided to win the match by jumping and clawing. Constantly. This game's about 5 minutes away from getting me a fucking refund.

Not really a fan of the remixed themes, either. CPS I is about the closest it gets, and even then.. bleh. Why couldn't they just include the original music?!

#1, I'm a former EB employee. That said, I don't shop at EB.

#2, no, not yet. I don't want to play with random people that drop, but I guess i'll give it a shot.

I'm trying it online now. Suprisingly, there's already an update. Maybe it fixes the damn cheapness.

//edit I think it did. It seems much, much, much more balanced out now. I also chose to set the game at a slow pace.

For anyone that gets it, turn it to the easiest setting and play arcade mode. Watch how cheap it is.

How does the fucking computer know always what you're going to do.. specifically, every fucking time I jump, T. Hawk does a jump up.. every time I try to do a low attack, he jumps and dives down. EVERY. DAMN. TIME. What the hell is wrong with this game.. it worked fine the first few fights, now it's like it suddenly slipped into hard mode or something. It's entirely possible that maybe I just suck, but I played Street Fighter 2 the other night and had no problem beating the game. It just seems extremely, extremely, extremely cheap to me.

I'm signing on to Live now. It's took like 30 seconds to connect.

Hey, cool. There's absolutely no way to look at your friends list when signed on to XBox Live. Oh, sure, you can make a match and make it friends only, but can you actually invite them to the match? Nope.

//edit Nevermind. You have to hit the start menu to find the friends list.

Glad to hear there's no lag. I'll have to pick this one up.

I picked it up today as well. I used to play 3rd Strike all the freakin' time before Halo 2 came out, so now I'm a little rusty. I played a bit of both 3rd Strike and Hyper Street Fighter II with Ledhed earlier and we were lagging hardcore. My connection has been crappy all night though, so that's probably why.

When I'm not playing Halo 2, I'll mostly be playing 3rd Strike, but I won't ignore Hyper Street Fighter II. My gamertag is Arikado. Add me if you want to play.

Yeah, we got hit pretty hard with lag. Every other match I played today went smoothly though, so I imagine it was just Ari's connection.

It's a shame they didn't bother to implement the "party" system from DOA:U where everyone could watch the current fight and chat together. But, I'll take what I can get.

Scorch, Im a little late here, but where did you find SVC Chaos for 19.99? Gamecrazy? Another thing, does anyone know if this sucker is coming out for PS2? I have most of my fighters there, and would like to throw it in for PS2.

It's $19.99 used at my GC, they have two copies.. I might do some trades tomorrow and get it, since they don't tax trade-ins.. but I don't think either copy comes with the instruction book.. unless they pulled it out and hid it behind the counter, which they've been doing lately..

I haven't played online yet. I refuse to play anyone that's not from CAG.. I don't want to play droppers.

When CvS EO hit a few years back, you'd encounter a little lag here and there. Mostly dependant on your connection. I never had much trouble with it, and the game is a blast. It's entertaining to whup on folks who think EO is a good idea. Especially if they pick Blanka.

How do you beat an EO blanka with an AC anybody in CvsS2? Blanka was one of the most overpowered characters in that game, and if they just ball and shock the entire time, you're finished.

You can't beat that with AC.

You guys are making me jealous. One more day til payday and then it will be kicking everyones arse.

My main focus will be on Street Fighter II. I played this religously as a kid.

When the one for PS2 came out we had a little party at a friends house and everyone was talking about how good they were. Well I kicked there arses all over with every single character from the game switching back and forth. Only one of my friends was able to beat me and I used Dhalsim in the lose but I had my revenge and beat him with Dhalsim later that night. The other time he beat me I had Zangief. But I was undefeated with every other character I tried.

Look for me tomorrow and Saturday night on Xbox Live.
XBL: BigMes

Now I never really got into the combo heavy games after Hyper Street fighter II Turbo. So I not that good in Third Strike. I have it for DC and played it many times but I can not beat the last guy.

So as of tonight I am in! Busta Uppa is the tag. I'll play both... probably Hyper mostly, but I'll definitely be playing both. I'll be on in a few minutes actually (waiting for first Conan commercial break)... so if anyone is up for a game let me know!

Not if I get beat legitly. The only thing that made me quit SVC Chaos was the abuse of the higher characters, especially Goenitz and Shin Akuma, and pretty much anyone with infinite supers. Wheres Alpha 3 and the original SF (even if it blows?). I'm hoping they make a second collection Alpha 3 online.

Droppers stil give us a loss? This is stupid.

What happended to replays?

And why does my SF:AC work like crap on my magic-box adaptor? Thankfully Third Strike was easy to get into with the XBox controller, due to It's similiarity of the DC controller.

Overall though this is the best 2d fighter on Live, better then CVS2. But I would put it behind DOA Ultimate's features outside of lag.

More people add me I'm itching for games. I was beating some random ass earlier. I won like ten straight and only dropped one round against this guy earlier and then he finally quit. heh

Pfft. Call 'em like I see 'em. That was funny though, we did have a good match. You beat me one round (without taking a hit, might I add), then I beat you and only took one hit.. then I just got whooped. You're pretty good with Chun-Li.

The thing does seems to bug out once every 20 matches or so, but for the most part it is working great. If it freaks out, sometimes just unplugging it from the XBOX controller port and plugging it back in seems to help. I haven't really had lag issues (well, none that a non-tournament player like myself would notice, anyway).

hmm... i'd rather try to find a working adaptor for my custom stick, but if worst comes to worst, i'll just dust off my x-arcade and get that x-box adaptor then. anything is better than the x-box controller i guess. thanks for the tip.

i'm a non-tourney player too, but i do practice a lot on the ps2 and play in the arcades, and man... i just gotta say that playing "competitively" on xbl really throws you off from non-online play. the timing on it is so crazy. sometimes parrying is insanely easy, other times it's downright impossible. there definitely is input lag, and most of the combos i would normally pull off i'd have to input commands way way earlier than normal.

all in all, i think it's pretty cool. multi-region is definitely awesome. nothing better than getting your ass kicked by japanese urien players. someone mentioned earlier about being able to watch matches and chat... i think that would've been a nice addition... could they normally add stuff like that? i'm new to xbl so i have no idea...

this is gonna be yanking my attention away from world of warcraft for a while, so if anyone ever feels like playing against a mediocre makoto player, add my xbl: kristianator.

and one last thing... before anyone says anything about it, throwing isn't cheap! jeez, if you don't wanna get thrown, then don't get so close... haha.

I don't get any input lag outside of the SF:AC controllers, they suck horribly with SF:AC for whatever reason.

Yes you could watch other people fight, and people would take turns in a round robbin. It was in DOA:Ultimate. It has the best features of any online fighting game ever atm.

Hmm... I dont know how much I'll be playing SF:AC over the next month since I just got RE4, maybe more after I beat it.

I use the XBox controller with the SF controller problems. I'm getting use to it, outside of T.Hawk's "The Hawk" which uses three punchs, its annoying to pull off.

And man does anyone talk during 2d fighting games? I had 50+ matchs yesterday and not one person talks. Even a "Nice" would be refreshing.

i didn't talk to anyone because i don't really like talking when i play in the arcade. a few people tried to talk to me, and i think they actually left because i didn't talk back.

If you get an invite while playing the other version, it will tell you it needs to exit out of the game in order to accept the invite. Once you do, it will automatically bring you to the "accept invite" screen for the version your friend was playing.

I've looked into the X-Arcade and some of the Hori joysticks - although most seem to be made just for the PS2.

Any suggestions?

It would be nice to have the two player X-Arcade joystick, but I doubt the wife would want me to spend the same amount as the Xbox itself, on something that would take up more room in the house.

(tag - Maizrim)Two-player X-Arcade is a good value in my opinion. A lot of people here think it sucks though and will tell you to build your own stick. Everyone says Hori and Mas are the best. I guess you have to figure how much you want to invest. If you want two joysticks, figure it this way... $150 for the two-player X-Arcade and $20 for an XBOX adapter. Order that straight from XGAMING and you get free shipping. That amounts to a grand total $85 per stick. So I'd say research Hori and Mas and find out how much the grand total of stick+adaptor ends up running you. Also you should consider what you plan on using the sticks with. If you plan on using them with the PC as well, for MAME or anything like that, that's another plus for the X-Arcade since its PC compatible right out of the box (I use mine for MAME more than anything else). Hori and Mas might work for PC but I'm not sure.

Thanks! I had not heard of "Mas" and will check into those. I would love to build a MAME system or learn how to use one like yourself. There are plenty of old games that I would love to play again. (mainly Commodore 64 and I used an old Atari joystick back in the day for those)

To be able to play Racing Destruction Set again would be heaven - that or some old Amiga 500 games I used to play as well.

As for Xbox - mainly fighting games like SFII and SCII or a lil Galaga on the side.

My wife and her friends would use it for Ms Pac-Man, so that might be a good selling point. (the married people know what I'm taking about) :)

Thanks again!

i own 2 custom sticks and one of those 2-player x-arcade sticks, and the custom sticks definitely feel a lot better for fighting games.

BUT, busta has a point, and you're looking at a roughly decent price for 2 (although they are combined) sticks. also, there seems to be somewhat of a problem with a lot of controller converters for custom sticks on xbox(since most of them are made from psx/ps2 controller guts). it lags so much that i pretty much have to use the non-fighting game friendly xbox controller for sf:ac instead of my sticks. i think mas makes sticks with xbox controller guts, or you can use x-arcade with xbox adapter.

Why did they build the SF2:AC controllers exactly like the Xbox controller?

I liked how the PS2 editions were like the Saturn layout. I bought the PS2 version of SF:AC last year but I feel kind of jipped now that the Xbox has online... and the AI seems way too hard then when I remember in the arcades. I suck I guess.

Wow, I forgot how overpowerd the Dragon Punch was in the earlier games. I've been fighting a lot of champion edition Kens lately, and the priority on that move is ridiculous! Attack from above and you're dead... go for a low sweep and it still hits you! I'm kinda glad they toned that move down. I forget if they modified it for Super Turbo, but I know it was much weaker in the Alpha games.
