Reviews should make it clear but my impression from the packaging is that they're unrelated.

No, the characters and locations involved in each game are completely different. You're ok playing one without having first completed the other.

anyone know if the first one is a platinum hit or not? I know silent hill 2 is, and this game is about as dated, but i can't find it on CC or BB site. I was wondering if it would be included in the 2 for 25 deal they got going now...B&M or Online

it came out a pretty long time ago and is now pretty hard to find even used. eb and gs both sell it for around $25 used

The only way that they are related is that the lead characters use the same camera to kill ghosts. the second one fills you in on where the camera came from, so it's sord of a prequel.

I liked FF1 alot. it scared the shit out of me frequently and the stuff you uncover in the mansion is really messed up. It's not quite as polished as FF2, but i had a great time playing it. Make sure you get it for the xbox, it's got a lot of extras once you play through it the first time.
