I flipped out a couple of times and punched my Xbox, now it doesn't read anything. Anyways, I have an extended warranty for it at EB. There's no visible damage to it, so is there any way they can tell it was "misuse" or my fault that it broke? Also, does anyone know if it is possible to get the $150 store credit instead of a replacement Xbox?

Finally, if I can't get the store credit, should I just sell the brand new Xbox and save it towards a next-gen console, trading off/selling the rest of my Xbox stuff? Don't worry, this is the first time I've ever actually treated my games like this. :P

Money may be better spent on anger management classes.

The only way you'd have a chance at the store credit would be if they couldn't find an XB to replace it with. And since you have an extended warranty, they probably won't want to to the store credit route to begin with.

And you are how old exactly? Why would you throw a temper tantrum and damage your console?

This is the guy that spent $500 on V-day.....just go by another one big spender ;)

And yes, that is just plain DUMB to hit a console.....at least throw a controller, not hit it.

Just tell them it doesn't read games and they will give you a new one. Very simple

If you bought the extended warranty from EB, they'll take it back, no questions asked. As long as the warranty sticker is intact.

But all you'll get is a replacement Xbox, they probably won't give you store credit.

i remember stomping my nes controllers. those things could not be broken.

now that i buy my own games and gear with my own money that i earn, no one touches my shit except me and even then i wear gloves and a scrub suit. It limits the transfer of bad things to the discs and xbox.

The warranty should have you covered. If not, make a big scene and yell that's why you bought the warranty in the first place

. . . . . make a big scene and yell . . . .

Something tells me that shouldn't be so difficult for him. :P

If you do take it back though, make sure you mention that you punched it cause you were having a bad day, and you'll be having another if they don't give you store credit, that should help your cause. :)
