I always said I'd never buy an Xbox. I've been drooling over Ninja Gaiden and Fable and Jade Empire and Halo for a long time I thought I'd have to break down. All I had to do is try Netflix (which I love) and buy 12 cds for $40.
Funny things is, I emailed them only asking what courrier they use to ship. They told me they sent it, but didn't actually answer my question.

Is the blockbuster online the cheapest one? Also, do these places actually deliver what they say the will?

I'm guessing it was the BMG music offer the OP had to fulfill.

. . . that plus something else. <--- EDIT: oh yeah, NetFlix!

Does this stuff really work? I'd join Netflix (been thinking about it anyway) and buy 12 CDs for $40 for an Xbox or a DS or something...

Im thinking of doing the AOL music and then the Netflix...they are both free trials and dont reqiure any further membership...do I actually have to rent/ download music to make the offer complete?

Hmmm...how long does it take to deliver an Xbox shipped on 2/17. We shall see. :-k

I don't know... I didn't use the AOL thingy. Netflix is free for two weeks. If you setup your account and cancel it they should still send you movies for 2 weeks. However, I have heard that you do need to pay for atleast one month of netflix. Its so awesome though, its not really a problem.

The catch: Note: Due to inventory constraints, you may receive an alternative product of similar specifications.
and
You must activate your card by making a purchase, transferring a balance, or making a cash advance
Looks like you need to spend some money to claim anything, if at all.

Anyone want to post links to these things? I'm all about a free Xbox, and I just got $40 for some computer work.

I've personally never tried any of these "gift" sites before although I'm currently enrolled in 3 DVD clubs, 2 music clubs, 1 book club and I've tried both NetFlix and Blockbuster Online.
*sigh* no FREE gift(s) to show for it. :|

I'm referring to the e-mail you received saying that your "gift" was shipped on 2/17. Did they actually state it was an Xbox? Keep us posted.

I think I'm going to just sign up for a month of BB and Netflix. THey seem like the easiest to cancel and deal with.

damn. I just noticed that the Netflix offer is for new customers only. Any recommendations on any others that are cheap and easy to cancel?
Wow, I'm surprised they didn't send you a DVD player or toaster as an 'equivalent item'. Pretty sweet to get a check for $150. I'd suggest cashing it ASAP.

I already bought my xbox with it =)
I was going to get a cheap one... but I figured it probably just die on me knowing the drives they have. So i bought a new one at game crazy and got 12 free rentals.
