I have seriously never experienced so much lag in a Live game. Most of the people playing just talked about how bad it sucked. The maps and weapon's are cool, but it is just unplayable at times. Anybody else checked it out?

Is the single player any good or is it to much "been there done that"?

I didn't even try it out. Was more interested in mutiplayer. Hell, I haven't checked out the capaign part of Halo 2 yet.

Well, I was in the beta.. on PS2.. there was a little lag with 4 or 5 people, and there was a random vehicle which was controlled with the left joystick ONLY (did they fix that?) and snipers that go invisible.. I avoided this title at launch after playing the beta, i'll wait for it to become $19.99 or less..

the beta was not all that bad. I was owning quite a few games which was the reason I stopped playing. The game had some flaws, but the game was actually steady on PS2 from what I played. I was even in some 14 and 15 player matches and never had a problem with lag.
I was actually suprised to see Gamespot gave the PS2 version the nod as the best version. I guess Crystal Dynamics got lazy with the Xbox version

Driving controlls were a little funky. The car's weren't bad. I got a tank wedged between a pole and a wall, and couldn't move it. Get out of the tank, and ofcourse now i'm trapped between the tank and the wall. Have to drop a grenade on myself so I can start over. Also, shot a few people in the face with a shotgun type gun about 5 or 6 times and absoulty nothing happens to them. Game was not ready to launch IMO. Hope the PS2 online is better.

Yeah, I was talking with a friend who hadn't played Halo 2 campaign yet, and somehow I brought up the subject of Grunts, and he didnt know what they were. :-s
I haven't picked up the game, mainly becuase it didn't look that good to me. Looked like a rehash of everything I've already played. I may rent it sometime though...
