go to an asian grocery store and get yourself a cup of Shin Ramen. That business is tasty. Its spicy though. I reckon almost any ramen in an asian grocery is better than top ramen. Its in a red cup/package.

From what I've heard from my friend, real ramen is SO much better than Top or Maruchan ramen. Like the stuff that Naruto eats in Naruto. She said it was amazing, especially with the stuff in it. Made me want some.

Ramen is good, I like Mama noodles better though, on my visits to Thailand I had a lot of Mama noodles at my grandparent's house.

Maruchan, tahts the good shit. Cost ten cents for the entire package and you have lunch ready to go in three minutes. I love cheap ramen noodles.

I used to do that all the time. I get the Teriyaki Chicken ramen and those Louis Rich chicken breast pieces... Marinate them in some teriyaki sauce over night, make the ramen for lunch the next day and dump the chicken and sauce in when I add the seasoning (I like to add 2 seasoning packets, then save the extra noodle block to make my own batch of soup with boullion cubes.) I also like using leftover steak cut up into beef ramen, and those little frozen salad shrimp in shrimp ramen.

Man, do I miss being unemployed sometimes... I never have time to make ramen now. Maybe next weekend. Yeah...

Normally I don't eat Ramen but I have when hard pressed to find anything else to eat. So I boil the noodles drain the water place them in a bowl add meat flavored pasta sauce, and shred Monterey Jack cheese all over it. That my friends is a little slice of heaven right there. Melted cheese, noodles, meat flavoring yum yum.

Here's what I have been doing. I cook and drain the Ramen and throw out the seasoning packet. Add a few shakes of sesame oil (just enough to get the noodles coated) and then a little bit of soy sauce to flavor it up a little. I eat that at least a couple times a week.

For whoever mentioned adding egg, I might add that into the mix today and see how that tastes. Sounds good.

I like Top Ramen and Maruchan. The only thing I ever add is a little lemon pepper salt to whatever flavor I have (I pretty much like them all.) Great for a fast, cheap, and tasty meal. I especially like them on cold days. I'd rather eat that than soup. I'd like to try the real Ramen one day.

Not spicy enough though! I usually trow away some of the squishy package and use a little bit of olive oil instead. Pho is better because if it's made right, the flavor is amazing.

CAR!!! (Cheap ass Recipe!)

pumbaa damn good pasta sauce:

1/2 a jar of tomato sauce
A crap load of chopped up gralic
Some sugar
Some shakes of red pepper
Chopped up onion (they actually make dehydrated onions chopped in a shaker... so I use that)

Let it simmer in a pan until it gets "thick". YUM YUM

At the moment I eat alot of Maruchan cup ramen. The cup ramen is alot better than the plastic wrapped stuff. It's got vegetables and meats in it, for around 30 cents a pop.

Cup Ramen I must say is a lot worse than the cheap package kind. At least with the cheap stuff you can make your own soup, but with cup ramen you take what they give you...

I believe the traditional Japanese noodles are udon and soba. However, while I was in Japan we did pass a Ramen shop... so I wouldn't think these are the only two. Both are good tho... I highly recommend them.

There are a lot of different types of noodles. Along with ramen, soba, and udon, somen is another popular type. Your most likely to see udon on a japanese menu, as ramen is typically for places specifically for ramen (just the quick way it's made and served).

I can't stress this enough. You have to try real ramen to really understand why it's almost a staple of japanese food. And it's so much better than any packaged stuff...

The Japanese steakhouse I used to frequent listed them as yakisoba on the menu. They had a somewhat sweet taste to them, like a honey. It's terrific. I don't know if that's just the way they make them or what, though.
