I'm tired of using marker on my CDs but the only experiences I've had with press on labels have been sub-par at best. Are there any good ones out there? Thanks in advance.

How did you have a bad experience? They are just a pice of paper with glue on the back. They are all pretty much the same. The only thing different is the name on the front, whether they are glossy or matte and the price.
I suggest you buy bulk off the net or go to a warehouse store like sam's or Bj's cause office stores sell you something ridiculous - like 50 labels for $15.

I'm told that labels are bad for the long-term life of a CD, so if what you're making is disposable, I'd recommend the basic whatevers that they stock at CompUSA -- Fellowes, I think it is? I haven't had any trouble with those. But don't underestimate marker.

I find the best label for sharpies is a Sharpie marker.

How? I doubt the glue is gonna eat through the plastic or make the disk melt.

Well, I've had some labels buckle and wrinkle on me after awhile. Probably because they were exposed to the extreme Chicago cold being left in my car?
Found these, but don't know if they're any good or not:

I too have heard labels aren't good for the CDs. But the markers just look so cheap. Too bad I didn't find out about those printers that have trays to print directly onto CDs before I bought my new computer. It came with a printer & I'm sure I can't convince my wife to let me get a new one just because I don't wanna have CDs with Sharpie writing on 'em.
Stupid question: What if I lamenated the CDs? Would they still function?
Thanks again for the input.

labels must remain perfectly centered or the disc will not spin right. If it ever peels, bubbles, tears, etc then the disc might be ruined...
