View Full Version : An immoral (?) can of worms

So one of my close friends (known him since high school & we're both 26 now) just opened up to me about something that, IMO is damn mindblowing.

He's been with this amazing woman, and she is easily the hottest geek I've ever known. She's one of those petite-small types who has such magnetic energy, unconsciously commands attention, and is all the while modest. Frankly I don't think she would've been with him through conventional means, and it made more sense once I found this out:

The big thing I recently found out was that he used two fictional personalities to help paint a glowing picture of him, which in turn made him more attractive to her. These two 'people' would go online and chat with her and give relationship advice. At times he would use these personalities to encourage her to have more sex with him. Could this be considered rape? What confuses me more is that this woman is incredibly smart (about 50/50 in terms of street and book smarts).

Larry's evil conscience: Fuck her. Fuck her brains out. Suck her tits, squeeze her buns. You know she wants it.
Larry's good conscience: For shame! Lawrence, I'm surprised at you!
Larry's evil conscience: Aw, don't listen to that jack-off. Look at those gazongas. You'll never get a better chance.
Larry's good conscience: If you lay one finger on that poor sweet helpless girl, you'll despise yourself forever... I'm proud of you, Lawrence.
Larry's evil conscience: You homo.

Oh, I just remembered. He made sure to base both 'people' other parts of the world so there's zero chance of her 'meeting' them. One of them is a certified relationship counselor so there some credibility.

While that is pretty shifty, it's by no means rape. If she's as smart as you say she is, she'll figure out what's happening eventually, and from there she can draw her own conclusion on what he really is.

So this girl takes dating advice from complete strangers? There's no way anyone can argue that this was rape. She made the choice to sleep with your friend on her own free will.

I agree. Also, who seriously takes relationship advice from people on the internet? I'd say she's about a 0/100 street smarts to book smarts whether she's ever actually read a book or not.

That is ingenious. I don't think that would constitute rape, as it is still her decision to do so. How long has he been pretending to be those other people?

Thanks for hearing me out. They've been together for two years and I think those two 'people' haven't been around all the time, so I guess I should give some credit to my friend's personality for being the main reason why she's still with him. But man, they're even going on a two week getaway to France next month. I'm starting to sound jealous.

Oh, and I just learned that the 'counselor' is not only a female, but also a feminist. I'm trying to convince my friend to show me a copy of one of his chats.

This sounds like one of those Penthouse letters where every guy's fantasy comes true with the special woman of his dreams. Sure it may sound good, but I'd think twice before taking an account like this as fact. If you choose to believe, I've got some WMDs in Iraq to sell you. :D

LMAO Gee...ya think?

Incidentally, I would expect the whole 'internet deception' thing to end poorly. All it takes is an IP trace.

yeah, lying to a girl to get her to sleep with you is rape... The jails are overcrowded already - I don't know how we would ever accomodate 1/2 of the population if this were true....

such loyalty ... what a great friend you are. Just what are you trying to accomplish here? Are you trying to knock your "friend" down a peg or two? Are you trying to prove how much of a better person you are by back-stabbing him?

Are you kidding? Who could possibly resist watching him squirm while she answers? This isn't Penthouse Forum, it's a sitcom!

BTW, I once asked some 30-something married friends of mine how they met. The difference was hilarious. He said they met in high school and met up again many years later. She said she had no recollection of being at the same school as him! He had to drag out the year book to convince her.

For years he thought their relation had been after a long unrequited love.

Okay, that's a good story.

OP's friend is a little shady, but what man hasn't lied to a girl to get some interest generated?

I think blackmail is the perfect decison here. Suggest to your friend that he let you have a threesome with his new girlfriend under threat of you exposing his secret. Then, once she's had a taste of your massive manhood and shown you the 'O' face, she'll tell your loser friend to fuck off. She gets what she wants, he can bow out gracefully, and you can either dump her or marry her. Everyone wins!

It really sounds like he's pulling your leg, I doubt he could keep up 2 convincing alternate personalities for that long without getting caught. Either that or she is the dumbest fuck I've ever heard of.

I don't recall having to lie to get a girl interested... actually I am typically just honest about my intent.

I think blackmail is the perfect decison here. Suggest to your friend that he let you have a threesome with his new girlfriend under threat of you exposing his secret. Then, once she's had a taste of your massive manhood and shown you the 'O' face, she'll tell your loser friend to shaq-fu off. She gets what she wants, he can bow out gracefully, and you can either dump her or marry her. Everyone wins!

Since she is so gullible you could probably find out where she chats and create your own personality, thus eliminating blackmail. Further, this personality could then persuade her to become more experimental...

Ewww, a threesome with a friend? Wouldn't it be a bit awkward the next time you hung out? (no pun intended :) )
