I got this last Friday, haven't played it yet due to a weekend with season 4 of Oz, but want to get a league up and running.
I think we should do this like the hockey leagues, everyone pick a team and we'll decide which format we want the CAG MLB 2K5 league to follow.
I'm not going to cherry pick first and take the Yankees or Red Sox. I will play my beloved, yet woeful, Pittsburgh Pirates.
Anyone else interested in a baseball league?
EDIT: I created a league with 30 slots, 8 playoff teams, 3 days betwen games.
League name is: CAG2K5
Password: CHEAPYD
Be aware that both were caplocked and there are no spaces. If I'm not mistaken there can be duplicate teams like 2 Yankees, Dodgers etc.
As I mentioned previously I did take the Pirates.
We can treat this one as "Spring Training" and play it until the end of March when rosters coming north are finalized. Then, when the game rosters have been updated, play the "real" season throughout the summer and fall.
We all know that plenty can happen between now and opening day rosters.
Thoughts? Ideas?

I am, but there needs to be some spring training or something to see who will actually play to avoid the problems other leagues have had.

Yup. I'd love to add on there, but I'll be getting it next week.

I'll probably be getting the game soon, and if so, I will sign up as one of the Chicago teams.

I might be if I decide to keep 2K5. It's in the mail...should be here soon.
I keep hearing about this "passed ball" BUG which REALLY screws with the game.

I would be interested but I want the Chicago Cubs. :D
I also agree with Matt X about starting maybe a smaller league 30 is going to be way too much.

Damn...30? Crazy. I'll sign in when I get it, probably Sunday. Cincy or Seattle.

Are you planning on playing 162 games?
I'm definitely NOT up for a season of more than 12 people, over 30 games..

So is this the only CAG league so far? Or did you go through with your own MLB league Rich?
I still have to find a CC that has the game though. Hopefully they get more within the next few days.

I set mine up. PMs went out tonight--you should have gotten one. I figure the league will be filled within a week---I didn't even send PMs to all interested and it's enough to fill it. (12 spots) This league seems dead, so I went ahead.
Oh--I thought the NBA PM read MLB so I didn't send it to you because I thought I already did. Sorry Steve.

Remember, we're not going to start this until spring training is done and rosters are finalized.
There's no sense in taking the February 14th roster update and running with it through the league. There have already been signficant changes since then in Major and Minor league roster positions.

Any thoughts on the limit?
I'm thinking 12 teams and a 24 game season (I don't know the breakpoints for the number of games.) should be about right.
There's no way any of us would ever play a 162 game season. Hell, I'll likely only play 60 games of this online, offline and in league period.
I'll set this up, again, once we've had some more feedback on how many people are going to play. This is NOT limited to CAG board posters. If you have friends from your XBL list or real life, they can sign up and play. Sign up will require a password though, I don't want this to be a truly public league.

i'd say 8-12 teams, no similar teams, people get whats left and if they don't like it tough luck. I'd go with 24 or so games. any more teams or games will just become tedious.
