Actually a good deal since it's so rare and goes for $50 on ebay and is not available anywhere else. If you're looking for this gem of a game, pick it up, they're gonna go quick. Unfortunately I bought a sealed copy for $45 on ebay recently, so I thought maybe someone else out there might enjoy this deal.

I'm quoting the front page of the site:

A new batch has been printed and we were able to snag quite a few copies. If you missed them last time don't miss your chance. Pre-orders are now up!

So I'll pass. Since it'll probably be available B&M ,I'd much rather prefer to buy it for ~$15 at like CC, BB, or maybe even Costco.

lol those stores will not get this game, and if they do, you're dreaming if you think you'll get it for $15, but good luck

Its a GH repint, so chances are it'll be like Xenogears, FFC, and FFA. As in rare, but cheap.

Yea, and considering that stores like Costco and Sam's Club still carry quite a lot of PSOne games, and they were one of the few to get the Castlevania: SOTN reprint, I'm guessing they should get this game. And all their GH games and just plain PSOne games at that are $13.99.

most likely it is not a gh reprint, most likely a reprint by the company who remade it originally, price is going to be around $30 cheapest. Wholesale on this was around $25.00 last time around.

They actually put this up close to a year ago, and I ordered my copy from them then. So obviously if other stores haven't gotten it in a year's time, they're not going to. I'd say if you want it, order it from VGD.

If this really is being re-issued, I have a LOT of friends who who will be very pleased. I kept getting people hooked on this game, then they would get pissed off when they tried to buy it and couldn't find it ANYWHERE. Seriously, in my college days, I never saw any game draw as many crowds (full of both gamers and non-gamers) as this one did. Every time I pulled this one out, I would just watch it weave its spell over a whole new audience. Capcom never knew the goldmine they had on their hands with this - I'm convinced that it could have been huge if marketed properly. This sounds like it might not be a true GH re-issue, but Capcom would be wise to re-release this. We'll see I guess.

Yeah, one of my friends let me borrow it back when it first came out. I had it for a really long time, I was hoping he'd forget that I had it. But I eventually gave it back. It's been one of those games that I've wanted for a long time, but could never find, or just kept getting other games. Hopefully if they release it again, it'll be cheap.

Heh heh... in 1999, I got it at Blockbuster for $10. I had NO idea how cool that would feel five years later...

I suppose there's always the GameBoy Player, MAME, and the (most likely discontinued) PC version, but in my opinion there's nothing like playing it on PlayStation with a nice crowd of people. And I'd assume the same goes for the Dreamcast import. Pick this one up while you still can!

I will have this game back in stock very soon. New and Factory Sealed and at a better price than that.

It should not be a GH cover. And I am good friends with the company that has asked Capcom to make more. I have a lot of copies allocated to me.

They will NOT be at Costco for $14....cost on the game is almost double that.

Sweet! Look at my username! ;-) I'm probably one of the greatest fans of this game! As I know, this game has been rereleased about 3 times in the last 5 years. The first time I got a lot for $13 at buy.com and bestprices.com. That was about 3 years ago. The 2nd time was more recent. Videogamedepot.com and therage.com both had some in stock. Miscellaneous sellers on ebay were also selling them at the time. Here comes the 3rd time. Yay!

Edit: So far the preveious rereleases were not Greatest hits. I think that makes sense since it is after all a PS1 game and not PS2.

I probably have the hugest Puzzle Fighter memorabilia collection ever ;-)

Yep - fantastic game. I remember going to my local Nickel City almost everyday after work and playing for a few hours. I got some of my work friends hooked back then, and in the last six months, we've begun playing at night at work again - we even have a scoreboard going with accumilated wins. It's amazing when some of my other co-workers walk by, hear the familiar sounds of Gems crashing, inquire if it's Puzzle Fighter, then instantly they are hooked once more :)

I still play my import Saturn copy at home with my wife (who loves the game as well) and I battle friends on the GBA (pretty poor port tho) on the drives out to Vegas (ah the sh*t talkin' :). There's just something about the game that puts it right up there with Tetris.

I think I may pick up a PS1 copy incase I ever buy the PSone/LCD setup. Now -that- would be the way to play on trips. Hope the price is good!

Capcom ditched their PSONE Puzzle Fighter stock for $10 back in Christmas 2002. And I waited like an idiot until a month later, when they were all gone.

It is not a GH release. And yes, every couple of years they "release" a few more. Why they don't do a large scale release is a mystery - maybe Defender can explain to them the bundle they would make with a full scale re-release.

Not really, no.

The Dreamcast Version, however, contains 2 extra modes - really two completely different puzzle games.

can you play this on the standard US Dreamcast? I'm planning on picking a DC system up soon, so I'm curious if this game would work on it.

MadFlava, is this game worth $34 you ask? Put it this way, A LOT of people, including me, are ready to fork out $50 for this game, which is how much I paid last month for a brand new sealed copy, this game is extremely rare and is the most addicting puzzle game ever. There is no doubt that it's worth $34, very much worth it.

I am not sure what you think is so damn funny fwacce.

The reason this game pops up every now and then is becuase ONE group is getting capcom to make small prints just for them. I deal with this company all the time and they are very good friends of mine. I have had this booked with them for about 2 months. I am getting a rather large percent of the total pressing. I do not want to disclose my price yet but it will be under $30 for sure. I am positive that I can beat any price that gets listed out there.

I was told this game will be in my hands in about 2 weeks...give or take a week.

As for the saturn version...its the same. But the DC version has some extras. Its Super Puzzle Fighter IIx...I think.

does the DC version you're selling play on US Dreamcasts? I've never owned one, so I don't have a clue about the DC import market.

This reminds me of when videogamedepot had gotten new copies of Magic Knight rayearth for the saturn a while back and had them new for $40. I regret not buying it as I was broke at the time.
Being broke sucks.

Yes, VGDepot has some great deals. They are the best independent games dealer out there. Great games, and they treat their customers better than any other games store.

I still have some Magic Knight Rayearth brand new.
If you want one for $40 you got it.

http://www.videogamedeals.com/product_info.php/products_id/1702

And yes VGDepot is a good site. I really like the layout. It's argueable that they are the best independent out there but they are definitely one of them. I do believe I beat them on price with just about everything and my shipping is cheaper, and I have coupon codes. As for their customer service vs mine...I will let others judge that. Being that fwacce has NEVER bought from my site I am not sure how he would know.

My vote for best independent may honestly be either play-asia, ncsx, or maybe lik-sang. I guess I am partial to the import places but I do like them and occasionally place an order with them. NCSX could use a better shopping cart system though.

Are you sure about that? I was under the impression that only certain PAL games can be run in NTSC via software, not hardware. Shenmue II and Headhunter being two off the top of my head.

defender
04-18-2004, 03:53 AM
you could be correct but I am pretty sure that all the UK pal games will play in NTSC if you can get the game to play. Techromancer is another I know of but you could be correct. It could very well be the software but I dont think so.

Anyone want to clarify or do some googling?

well I'm a big DC fanboy and I've never heard of any game besides the PAL copy of rez not booting up on a US dreamcast. I'm sure if the problem did exist then I would have heard about it. The pal games I own are rez, head hunter, Shenmue 2, Fighting Vipers. All work fine on my US DC.
