Its just about done.
I have some slight testing and some promotion setup but you are welcome to take a look at it and register.
Please LMK what you all think.
Any ideas on things I can change or improve?
Also what would be some good ideas for promotions?
I was thinking about having a weekly drawing for a $50 VGD voucher and to enter you have to post at least one auction.
thanks

Do you have to re-register if we registered before?

Hopefully second time will be a go this time. =) Do we have to re-register if we did so the first time around? About promotions to really help get the site off and runnin'... I think bidders should also have some incentive to bid agressively. Say, for every auction you win and receive positive feedback for, you'll be entered into a drawing for a $xx.xx gift certificate. Initially, something like that just to get the ball rollin' a 'lil quicker. Perhaps the Winning Bid value would be relative to how large a Gift Certificate you could win. Just a quick thought that came to mind. Best of luck w/ the site and let us know when the Grand Opening is again. ^^x

What's the age limit? My birthday is this month and I guess I'll wait instead of putting a fake birthdate.

Sorry but users will have to sign up again. The files were different enough that I didnt want to attempt to convert the old ones...it should only take a minute to register again. And I will make it worth it.
A $20 credit is given to all new signups.
Currently no age limit. I have installed a mod that allows for users to be "verified". Obviously you can still sell and buy without being verified but I will create a criteria for users so we that verified users can be trusted more.
and Soujirou...your idea is pretty good but be aware people may create a few accounts and then buy from themselves to get more entries. Personally I think its more important for auctions to be listed and that alone should attract buyers. I have a few ideas to get more buyers. Sellers are first though.

Do you have to get an email with your password before you can login? Cuz I remember no space to choose a password, therefore I have no idea what mine is. If you have to check anything, my username is XboxMaster.

You have a nice setup there defender. The only thing was that I couldn't find where to change my password. Other than that I'm looking forward to using your site.

Yeah I gotta agree...theres no way I can remember the current password. Also, I can't log in. It says it can't find my user name. Does it take a little while to get into the system or something?

Did you try clicking on the link in the registration e-mail? I was having the same problem until I verified my account.

What I'm wondering if is many of the Cheap Ass Traders here are going to migrate....a built in feedback system sure is tempting.
defender
04-12-2004, 12:06 PM
not only a feedback system but also a verified system
so once someone has passed the criteria the account will get upgraded to verified status...similar to paypal
As for the $20 credit...I believe thats answered already in the thread. You can $20 in credit when signing up as a bonus.
And YES...feel free to bid on the TEST items....if you want.

Defender, are there going to be Buy It Now auctions? And are these $20 credits only good for VideoGameAuctions or can we use them for VGD?

The credit is a VGA credit to use toward listing fees.
Buy It Now is actually called "Instant Purchase".
