New GameCrazy trade-in deal starting 4/19

Just saw this today, a flyer advertising it. This deal goes from 4/19 to 5/2 and supposedly you have the have the advertisement for it to work (although they should have them in all the stores you would think).

Anyway, the deal is on GameCube, PS2 and Xbox games only. It also excludes "sports-themed" games, so I would assume that means all normal sports games plus stuff like "extreme" sports (Tony Hawk and the like).

Trade 2 games, get 15% extra trade credit
Trade 3 games, get 25% extra trade credit
Trade 4 games, get 40% extra trade credit

I should note that GC usually gives a pretty good amount of credit for used games, with some exceptions of course. More in my experience than EB or Funco/Gamestop. Anyway this looks to be pretty nice if you have four games to trade in. 40% is a big difference. That's $70 instead of $50, or $140 instead of $100, for example.

Now we need to find some good titles to trade in there. Anyone have any ideas with some good values they've gotten or seen at GC? thanks!

Just wondering but does this require membership? Some Gamecrazy's force customers to pay for memberships, 14.99 here in richmond. Even with that great amount of extra credit I don't think I should have to pay for the ability to jsut trade stuff in.

40%? Sorry, thats wrong. As far as I know (from the memo I received AND the flyer) its only 25% more for 1 game, every day. So you can trade in 1 game and get 25% more, then come back the next day and get 25% more on another title. I have NEVER heard of the 40%. Maybe your thinking EB?

Tebunker, you don't have to 'pay' to trade things in, you just get more credit and discounts.

well my Gamecrazy states explicitly that you have to pay for the membership to trade in. The MGR is a prick. They've even said that you don't need it at other stores.

BTW, I checked further into this deal. It seems to be only at SELECT Game Crazy's.

I can confirm the deal elprincipe mentioned. I was at my local GC Saturday and they handed me the flyer... just after I traded in some games, doh! I'm definately going back to take advantage of this deal.

I didn't see anything on the flyer that mentioned a membership was required. At my GC, the membership is $20/yr and that gets you 10% extra trade-in credit and 10% off used games and guides. If you trade frequently and buy used games, you'll recoup the $20 in no time. GC also has the best trade-in allowances I've ever seen.

I've been to several different stores and they never pressured me. However, I do have a card and maybe that's why. Anyway, the advertisement didn't say anything about requiring MVP membership to do it.

Nope, it's 40%, at least the one I got. I got it from the store itself. It quite plainly states 40% extra for four games. However, you can't trade more than 4 games under the deal, I should mention.

I think I liked EB's trade 5 get $25 deal a bit better....though this is an adequate substitute. However, I get the feeling there will never be a Gamecrazy anywhere around here anytime soon.

Must be a YMWV situation. I know the flyer that i received is ONLY for 25% for 1 title.

i rather wait for the eb 1 title trade in for 10$. Anyone here know how much trade in i could get for max payne 2 for ps2?
