I know the AR for gamecube allows you to play imports; I was just wondering if there is anyway play them on the ps2. Specificly, there is a PAL game that my girlfriend wants... Hamster Ball

Mod-chip. But it won't do you much good without a PAL tv.

If you have an Xbox there is going to be a version of Hamster Ball on Xbox Live Arcade.

Also Super Monkey Ball Deluxe for PS2 is due out quite soon.

there are some "soft mods" available but we can't talk about them here.. if your looking into that kind of gaming either order the local system (I.E. picking up a Jap or UK Xbox) or just hope for localization to come here..

good luck either way and theres always Google

Probably easiest to just get the original PC shareware version. It doesn't need a high-end gaming rig to play.

There is a free online version here:

Be warned, it may try to install spyware. Something about the way the site is setup makes me suspicious.

I have a japanese PS2 I got a while back for playing imports. Outside of modding is there any easy method to play U.S. PS2 games, or at the very least U.S. Region DVDs on it?
I replaced my US PS2 with the new slim version, but the way that thing heats up just plain scares me. I'd love to be able to use my Jap PS2 to play my US titles as well, but installing mod chips is not my bag.

thanks in advance for any help you guys can offer.
