I think US gamers are mistreated comparing to Japanese dancers.
DDR Extreme had MAX 300, MAX UNLIMITED, LEGEND OF MAX, MAX PERIOD, 3 PARANOIA SURVIVORS, BAG, SAKURA - ALL 10 footers on heavy.
and what in US Extreme??
basically easy songs.
I had to import mine from Japan.
btw, anybody beat MAX 300 on heavy??
I'd like to hear about your scores.

I've beat Max 300 on heavy, yes with my feet. That was back in my heyday though. I'm not so good anymore. The hardest part for me was being able to move that fast. No clue about my scores though, that was 2 years ago.

I finally passed Max 300 (Heavy singles) the other day for the first time, with a C. It was glorious!
If harder songs are your thing, you should be looking out for In The Groove coming out on PS2 later this year. ITG is also in arcades, and is a spinoff of DDR that is more geared toward the hardcore player. ITG2 was just premiered at a trade show, and the new cabinet looks beautiful.

It's unfortunate that they "baby" us. The US releases were disappointing in that aspect - the songs were way too easy. I wonder why they haven't included some of the more popular 10-footers (like Max300, Paranoia Survivor, etc).

Max. (Period) is a b*tch to do on Heavy. I've never passed any of the Max songs on Heavy, but I believe Max. (Period) is by far the most difficult. I'm sure the 600BPM at the end will kill most of you. ;)

I beat Max 300 (B), Max Unlimited (B), Paranoia Survivor (B), Sakura (A), and Bag (A).
I can't beat Legend of Max, Max Period, or Paranoia Survivor Max yet, though I can get kinda far in LoM.
I have Jap Extreme too. They do have Maximizer on US Extreme, which has become one of my favorites. It's not hard, but the steps are really fun. Other than that, the US version is far worse.
ITG looks cool.

yeah, I beat all songs on heavy, MAX PERIOD worst part is definetely last 20 seconds, with speed tweaked twice comparing to steady MAX 300 bpm's.
but it's a lot of fun.
and I know many people having troubles with BAG(Irish Bagpipes), because it's slow and waaaaay too confusing for many players.
Sakura is easy, and it shouldn't be considered 10-footer at all.
MAX 300 is still one of my favorites - because of it new sound and afteral that was first 10-footer song ^_^.
Legend of Max is another favorite of mine, awesome tunes that giving you adrenaline pump, and it's very enjoyable.
the hardest song??.......hmmm......

if you want tweaked diff in Paranoia MAX Surviovor - this song has oni challenge in it- now that's a bigger challenge comparing to regular MAX Survivor, try this one ^_^.
