i dont think they will accept it, but it depends on the worker. also, dont they call the store to price match without "documentation"?

A receipt usually doesn't work for documentation, from what I've seen.
Beyond that, they usually won't take it if it's not from a store in your area. A Toys R Us from Chicago won't work if you're in Texas.

They told me if I brought in a reciept, they would accept it, so does anybody in and around the NYC area have TRU receipts that they could post

I highly doubt it as they will laugh you out the store before they let you get away with TRU clearance prices.

That isn't true. If you're lucky, they'll do it. But the employee might get in trouble for doing it... If you can justify fooling an employee into doing something that is clearly against the rules, then go for it. During the BB $5 clearance, I got FFOrigins from CC for like $3. Sweet.
But then I realized that it's aganst their policy, so I'll likely never do that again. It's up to you, though.

if they accept it without realizing and I pay with cash, then they have no way of finding me

Some of you may think this is bad or wrong, but they price match and you know what, they should honor their policy

here is what it says about pricematching on CC's website:
If you've seen a lower advertised price from another local store with the same item in stock, we want to know about it. Bring it to our attention, and we'll gladly beat their price by 10% of the difference. If you see a lower advertised price (including our own sale prices) within 30 days of your purchase, we'll refund 110% of the difference.
Our policy applies only to advertised prices. It does not apply to special offers or promotions, including rebates, free-with-purchase offers and special financing. Unfortunately, we are not able to provide price matches online, so please visit the closest Circuit City store to take advantage of our Price Guarantee.
So who knows... it sounds like kinda a grey area, not actually advertised but a reciept would prove the price. It's SO CRAZY its just might work.

where it screws me possibly is "local", unless I photoshop reciepts, but is that morally wrong

If you going that far....why don't you just save yourself some time, and just out-and-out steal whatever you want. This is not a recommendaton, of course, but the intent is the same, less effort, and "better" results. Being a CAG, means to be above such tactics tho.

I work retail at Best Buy and people who think cashiers are as dumb as a box of rocks piss me off. Luckily, I stopped ringing about 2 months ago. I'm fine with price matching, hell, I've told several customers to come back with an ad to get it cheaper if they want. It is their policy to price match sale items at other stores, not clearance prices. If you want to try, feel free, just know that if you trick an employee into doing, they will likely get in trouble. If you have no heart, fine, try to price match and trick the employee into it, but for your own sake, don't raise a fuss about it if they don't. It only makes you look like a complete idiot.
