I was just wondering what opinions the members have.
Personally I think it's time for a make over.

it would be ok if it wasnt over bearing. alof of game sites have this problem, when they re-design, the go overboard and yeah.
im not opposed to change at all, but do it right or dont do it at all.

i would not count on that, defender hates programing for the skins we have right now, if anything i would assume a redesign would eliminate the skins all together.

I'd keep it the way it is, though this site could use some more gold. We already got green and anyone who rolls is like a pimp has green and gold. Green for the money and gold for the honies! :lol:

I liked the "Artemis Green" forum layout (i think thats what it was called). If you don't change the site's look, at least finsh that and make it available again. please. :)

IMO it really doesn't need one. Like others said maybe rework the front page a little or something, but I think the forums and everything else basically look fine.

I dont know what to vote but i do like the design now (the black is very easy on the eyes late at night). I guess I wouldn't mind though.

I'm happy with the forums right now. They are easy to use and navigate. If anything, I could see the front page getting cleaned up a bit.

I voted no, just because too many site "revamps" I've seen are moving to heavier flash and higher bandwidth content. Not everyone has broadband yet, and it's really a shame to see so many sites basically turning away dial-up visitors.
However, if it were an optimized, minimal/no flash site setup, pretty much no larger in bandwidth pull than the current version, then, I don't see why not. Especially if you're just talking about a different Movable Type or phpBB skin.
As far as the forums go, that PSP link was rather lame. The CAG forum setup is a lot nicer like it is already.

No, don't change a thing. CAG just has a charm. If you change the forums to a more metallic (i.e., PSP forums) look, I fear that the charm will be lost. The front page, on the other hand, is a different story...

I voted no because the forums are great the way that they are. They're simple and have lots of charm like Mr. A said. I agree with most others that the front page could use some reworking to make it better.

Less is more. I don't like all the flash & animations some other sites have. Keep it simple (plus it'll save your bandwidth costs ;) ). I agree though the MAIN site should be dressed up a bit more. Also the news on any major deals could have been updated more frequently

How about some skins rather than a revamp? I liked that test skin you had earlier.
If you're willing to spend the time to develop a new format, Defender, then why not design it & give it a trial run? Who can make a sound decision based upon a known option and one they know nothing about?
Everyone who voted no in this poll might gladly embrace a new design if it turns out to be a lot better than the current one, naturally.

I would like to add that if a change does come that CAG please not suffer a 1up fiasco.
I'm talking simple changes and/or additions - starting with the black color scheme.

Well there is no current plan to redesign the site. I was being whimsical and made the post.
CheapyD of course is the one to make any design on the go ahead anyways...I just wanted to hear some opinions about it.
My preference would be a total makeover to help brand CAG better. Currently the forums is a skin and the front page as many have noted are just plain. My preference would be to minimize the sites graphic pull and more css xhtml. Flash sucks imho...looks great but is a nightmare for any webmaster.
The forums and the front page should be skinned to look alike...at least this is how I feel.

Please oh please do not change the forum colors. I am legally blind, and also color blind. This is the first and only forum board I've ever been able to clearly see. Most of them are too much strain on my eyes. If anything needs a change, it would be the front page, and that would be the only thing I would want done. Please don't change the boards... [-o<

Yes, it's due time for a makeover. The black and green makes it look like CAG has a slant towards the XBox (not that it's necessarily a bad thing). ;) However, I say change to a more neutral color scheme, revamp the forums and front page, and get an official logo. Those who are whining about the "loss of community" or whatever will get over it.

I think the look of the forums are fine. The front page can be tuned a bit, but not too much.
If the server issues continue, it would be moot anyway.
About the official logo, wasn't there a contest a year ago to design one? What ever came of that?
