EB called me yesterday, but i didnt pick up the phone cause i was at my golf lesson (no laughing!)

they didnt leave a message, and they never do, which kinda pisses me off.

later that night when i got home, my friend calls me and plays a message that was left on his machine. it was EB saying that the PSP would be in THIS thursday.

now the message was pretty shitty, cause his answering machine is breaking. but it sure as hell sounded like we can pick them up this thursday.

i'm not getting too excited because of the whole street date thing. being a former manager of funcoland and suncoast, i understand street date pretty well.

im gonna swing by EB this afternoon and see whats up.

anyone else get a call?

Suppose I could go by there today just to see. If they have any of the games out it will spare me dealing with the possible crowd.

If that were the basis for the product I wouldn't even be getting a PSP. Kind of like the SNK platforms. If you aren't into fighter there isn't much attraction.

EB (and other game stores) sometimes dosn't leave messeges due to the fact it says "The Johnsons" rather then "Jack'. Sometimes PARENTS pre-order games for the childs birthday/holiday, and would like to surprise their kid .

well, i stopped in at lunch to pick up musashi samurai legends.

the guy said they will be be in next thursday when the store opens at 10.

they have 300 preorders, and will have just enough stock to fill them. no extra, at least for a couple weeks.

they had available to sell:
THUG 2
Gretzky Hockey
NFSU
and 1 or 2 other games i cant remember.

Sheez, 300?. The manager at the EB here told me they are only initially getting 20 in and only the first of the preorders (I was actually preorder number 1) will be able to get them on the 24th.

Wow, that's actually a pretty decent thing to do.

This is where the Gamerush pre-order fits in nicely... they are only getting 10 units at the store I shop at. This means only 10 people in line when I show up. The EB a few minutes down the street is getting 90 of them in... poor bastards will be standing in line all day while I charge my batteries up!!

I got a call from EB yesterday and they told me I'd be getting a PSP from the 1st shipment on March 24. Asked me what time I would come in to get it and said they can only hold it for 24 hours. Also told me to pre-order any games that I want since they might not get enough or something like that.

What the hell man. I just called my local EB Games, which only has 30 pre-orders for the PSP. They told me they are only getting 10 PSP's on the the 24th! What the fuck!

But those game wouldn't be enough to get me to buy it in the first place. If someone made a package of the unit and just those games for well under $50 I might but there isn't really anything there that isn't available elsewhere. The appeal would be more historical than anything else.
