I want to record video from my console video games (specifically, the GameCube) and I think I need a video capture device. Any deals? The quality isn't that important, and the cheaper the better. I just want to record some vids of some of my games and host them for others to see.

In addition, it would be nice if someone could provide a site that had a good tutorial on how this stuff worked, as I am a complete newbie. I don't even know what kind of device I need...how does IGN do it?

Check out the manuals for how to operate one. They are in PDF format.

Here are some on ebay...

Get one with a HARDWARE based MPEG2 encoder such as the Haupaguue PVR-250. A little more chedder but worth it as you won't 'drop' any frames recording. USB one on the other hand is highly CPU dependant/and bandwidth limited=i.e. sucks

Edit: Thanks for the advice so far.
