There are nationwide shortages right now. Depending on when and where you ordered, as well as how much you dropped, it could take 1-6 weeks to get full inventory up and running. Guess they decided now was a good time to pull their old inventory and retag it with a, "Compatible with Sony PSP!" label. In the meantime, who the hell knows when mine will be hitting EB.

I think that I saw a link at bestbuy.com for a 1gig sandisk for $143 shipped, but its a preorder that will ship right after the PSP ships. It sounds like a good deal to me.

EBgames.com has them listed as shipping in 24 hours.

If you're in Fry's territory I'd suggest waiting for them to have an advertised special. It will be in stock and probably highly competitive to boot.
Otherwise, just be patient. Flash device manufacturers aren't in a big hurry to crank out units for the PSP launch because a new generation of flash chips just a fews months away. Getting stuck with a lot of inventory based on more expensive chips isn't in anyone's business plan.
If you wait a while the Memory Stick will be much less expensive with higher capacity options.

It's amazing how the price drops on this stuff, I bought one of these at Best Buy over Xmas break for $69.
