Your options are terrible.
None of the above.
I will be picking up both a DS and PSP, mainly becuase there will be games I want on both systems. Both won't be bought for quite some time, however.

Because daddy gives me money that I can throw away on something I will probably sit on?

I spent so vveeeeeeeeery leetle on it, vy nott?
....Ever wonder if that was the whole point all along?- to get into the hands of the real gaming community for so little in pocket cash? I mean, I haven't met someone yet who would buy the thing, but they would happily pay for some of it, just not all. So, with trade ins and specials, everyone is paying less than the DS for it...just an interesting note. To further insult to injury, how many DS units sold first few days? All of those were out-of-pocket expenses, but with the PSP, most of the States have pre-ordered through the large sections of the available units.
Very odd when you put two-n-two together

The games, baby. Best launch line-up in the history of gaming. I challenge anyone to dispute that.

Your options are terrible.
My sentiments exactly.
OP... try harder next time.
On another note, the PSP is seeing a launch far superior than that of the DS. Albeit I a proud DS owner, I'll admit it just doesn't have a killer app available at the present time. PSP isn't even out and if we should believe the gaming press; they have a fair amount of good to even excellent titles. At least one AAA. That being said I am not ruling the DS out, not just yet. DS posesses tremendous potential. :twoguns:

Because my DS needs an older brother to fight with.
Also because It will replace my lost MP3 player, and also become a portable movie player as well. Oh yea, it plays games too.

My pick would have been because I like games. I'm sorry but those options were really weak.

I'm getting it because it's everything I want in a next-gen handheld.

None of the above.
I already have a DS and expect the PSP to have a very different library a year from now than what will stand out on the DS as it matures.
Plus I'm getting it really cheap. My DS with two games cost me about $160 and the PSP with two games won't cost me any more. If I was paying list price I'd probably wait but being a CAG saves me from that.

Because I have to have every new system released.

I'm obsessed with portables, and the PSP looks to be the best one ever made to date.
