S-video is a bit better than a composite cable but not as good as a component cable. Cables are pretty common.

also if your computer has a video card with S-Video out you can run a cable from your computer to the S-Video in of the tv and run your computer on your tv, alot of people like to do that ti watch their movies saved on their computer.

S-video will give you a crisper picture than the standard Red, Yellow, White cords. Better color seperation, but as said above it's not as good as component. When I can't use my component hookups this is the cord I use. Cheap and it gets the job done. Works for PS2, Xbox, & GC/SNES/N64

S-video seperates chromanescance (color) from luminescance (brightness as in black and white). Better seperation means sharper picture. Component video breaks it down even further into "components" of red green and blue which makes an even better picture if your T.V. has the inputs.

I use the same cord. It should also be $10 at a local Blockbuster or Gamestop.
