I'll be getting married in a week and a half. We chose to get married on an island in the bahamas. It's not as expensive as you'd think but boy is this one logistical nightmare! We chose to do this through Disney's Intimate Weddings since they provide a wedding coordinator who "takes care of everything." Everything that is related to the actual function that is. We still ended up planning an entire vacation for ourselves and worked as travel agents for our guests. This last week has been the most hectic by far just making sure everything is in order. And to make things worse, I waited until now to do my state taxes. And the hits just keep on coming...

I hate weddings, they have put me on spending restriction.
Its not so bad though, a bit stressful.
We really wanted to get married in hawaii, but a good portion of the peopel we want at our wedding wouldnt be able to afford bringing their whole families.
at least one day of every weekend is occupied by appointments with some wedding service provider.
I cant wait to get it over with. itll be great

For me its been stressful but I know its more for her. But I want it to be the wedding of her dreams and as long I see her smile its worth every penny and tear. But as long she lets me have my video games I will be happy.

No just kidding man time flies. When your planning it you have 6 months next thing you know its over. Good luck to everyone out here and get a second opinion on how much cake you actually need. We bought one to feed our invites three times over. A good part of it went to waste.

My plans are going good so far. I am getting married this June in Las Vegas. So far so good with everything. The wedding planner seems to take care of the big stuff and the only things left to decide are invitations and crap like that.

Mine was part of the package that I got through Caesars Palace. She is pretty good so far. Cute too! Not that I should worry about that before I get married.[/quote]

I guess getting married takes away the ability to make coherent thoughts. ikik
I'm not in any rush to tie the knot, but good luck everyone here who's going through with it.

You know I was once in a meeting and the presenter was talking about how great life was when he was in his mid 20's
He had just got his career started.
He had just purchased a starter house.
and he just married his starter wife...

Hmm. If you're there long enough you can take part in the star festival (http://gojapan.about.com/cs/japanesefestivals/a/tanabata.htm) (July 7th.)

Yeah I was looking for some "funny" wedding pictures to put up here for everyones laugh. This is the only type of thing I could find.
Sad really.
I am glad I have a good marriage. Despite how I may have come off on these last couple posts.
Good luck to everyone again.

Depending on where you're located (and therefore how long the flight is), the Caribbean is a great place. I'm looking into honeymooning there for next summer. You can find all sorts of accomodations on the different islands, from very affordable to super-luxurious. I just went to St. Lucia with my family a month ago; it's a great island, with a lot to do and see if you choose to. The Bahamas are very affordable. Some islands are more tourist-oriented, while some are more quiet and relaxing, depending on what you're looking for (though considering it's your honeymoon, I'd guess it's the latter, since you'll be providing your own entertainment  ). Each of the islands has something different to offer, a different history, a different setting, so explore around. St. Lucia, for example, shows a French influence from when it was controlled by the French, while St. Martin is divided between French and Dutch sides. You can't really go wrong with any of the islands though, as long as they're politiically stable and have low crime (i.e. not Haiti, Cuba, or Jamaica). Good luck.

Grats to everyone getting married!!!
I have been married for a little over 3 years now and it's still not hell. Once you get through the actual wedding it's a LOT easier. On my honeymoon I drove from Indy to Fort Lauderdale and stayed there for 2 nights, then took a cruise ship to the Bahamas for 4 nights, then back to FT. Lauderdale for 2 nights, then Drove up to Orlando for 4 nights, then drove to Gatlinburg for 2 nights, then a 150 year old inn in Southern Indiana for 2 nights. I spent almost as much on the honeymoon as I did on the entire wedding. Ahh the good old days, money was good, now it's been sooo long since I've had any lol. And then there are the in-laws......... Well have fun Mwahahahahaha.
