It's so ingrained now that I doubt it would do much good, but I doubt they would have ever started had post counts not existed. Some of their appeal would definitely be gone if post counts were removed, I believe, though.

Regardless of all this, I def support the move to VBulletin. Vbulletin is by far, leagues better than any other board on the net and, well, should have been used in the first place. :) These current boards do indeed suck..

I personaly think the monopoly men would be good enough, infact a mark for 10 and 100 posts would be good enough for me. In the trading thread it helps to know who is brand new and who might be new to the forum but understands how the site and the PM systems work.

I found out about CAG from a link on another forum. That forum being the SomethingAwful forums. Lowtax(the owner) had horrible trouble with the forums because of VBulletin. It took the amazing VB hacking skills of a fellow named Radium and I think it's up to 4 different PowerEdge servers to spread the load now because VBB really goes to hell once things get too big. This was back when there was a little less than the current membership CAG currently has.

There is a lot more activity though so I don't know how CAG would scale in comparison but I think it would be best to at least ask around other comparable forums Admins if you haven't. You probably have but just felt I'd chime in just incase so things don't go bad later down the line.

I love VBB but I've seen the horrible things that can happen with it and don't want to see that happen here.
