The PSP boxes do not come sealed with tape.

Take yours back and get a new one.

No. The box comes with a top and bottom fold in flap. No security seal is on the box.

All of mine have clear plastic tape, but you can tell it was done at the factory.
My guys at Gamestop were cool enough to let me open it to check for dead pixels before I took it.
There will be no shortage. My Wal-marts still have over 100 systems between them and K-Mart has 25. Looks like Sony finally did something right.

Mine was sealed with a transparent sticker. It could be easily confused as just tape, though.

The corner of the backside of my psp box was a little bit damage(more like wrinkled), no biggie tho, since i didn't see a damn dead pixel like people are claiming. In fact, i've never had a broken ps1/ps2(from launch).

Got mine from best buy, along with PSP USB Link cable with media manager(14.99 but they gave me a $5 coupon on it). Thing I hate about best buy and compusa is, they try to push you into buying the replacement plans.

Mine had white tape too...and One dead pixel. Its really not visible unless you really look for it, but since I know its there its killing me..I cant enjoy Wipeout. I tried to go to my Gamestop to change it but they were sold out :(
Now I have to wait till they get more in.

...you could just look at it as one imperfect pixel out of like a million good ones and be happy you didnt get 5 or 6 DPs with dust on your screen. I'd think that would make wipeout alot less fun.

got mine brand new last month at EB, and it did come with a small piece of rectangular tape on where you open the box. all the PSPs that have come into where I work (TRU), have that same seal on them.

I have 1 or 2 dead pixels, but for some reason they only show up when im searching for stuff on Google on my PSP.

I've owned 2 PSPs because my first one had an assload of dead pixels and I returned it at EB. The first one had tape, the second one had nothing sealing it.
