Do me a favor . . . if you are one of the people who couldn't get the game after a manager refused . . . or even if you did.

Please lodge a complaint with the store.

Talking points:

It is unfair (and unwise) to alienate customers this way! If some stores are selling it for a penny then they all should. If it is in their system as a clearance then clear them out.

In particular, this idea (given to me in Racine Wisconsin) that they are only a cent if you buy an Xbox is total crap . . . there is no advertised promotion of this (from Microsoft or CC).

Selling this game for $99.00 is absurb . . . they are going for $15 over at Gamestop!

This is something we should pursue together . . . we need these retailers to stick to their prices (even if they are mistakes).

Please bring this up at your local and request that they seek word from above.

Stores make mistakes when pricing. There isn't anything that we can do about it so we have to just deal. Just because they make a mistake doesn't mean they have to stick with them.

Reminds me of my time working in retail at a small computer store. A SBLive soundcard got put into a box marked as 35 instead of 99, so a guy brought it up to the counter and when we pointed out it was a mistake he demanded we honor the price, loudly. Our manager conceeded that that was the price we marked and we had to stand by it. He also pointed to the sign on the counter proclaiming that we could refuse to sell to anyone we wanted and quickly ejected the guy from the store. Ah...good times.

Sweet sweet justice....he got what he deserved. Gotta love when a smart ass customer meets a smart ass manager.

I got mine in McHenry CC, about 40min from the racine one. I was at the Bet buy in Racine so I went next door to the CC and asked, and they said they were all out of them. So either they lied to me, or sold them for a penny later.

i advise anyone that got denied to do this. while i did get 3 in store, a similar thing happened to me at comp usa over a ps1 battery pack, i filed a formal complaint on the store through the corporate offcie, low and behold the next day i got a call from the manager telling me they could sell it at that price.

I, personally, didn't get in on this deal. But if they say they're selling at a certain price they should uphold that price. Then once they realize their error, correct it after that.
