The buddy list makes it easier to PM multiple users at one time and users that you talk to often via PM AFAIK. Just open the buddy list, check which users you'd like to PM, and it will open the message for you.

Actually it is possible. Asia Carrera is a huge Unreal fan and played all the time. She even did skins for the game and posted them on her website. I remember watching a show about it on some channel. It was a couple years ago though.
