Nah, I gotta disagree...the character limit cuts down on a lot of just "rofl" and "bump" posts - which is a good thing. C'mon, it's only 10 characters. If you gotta bump just do "Bump :rofl:"

Rank limitations need to be longer, but I think post limitations are fine. Like WSB said, just say "Bump :rofl:"

a character limitation has nothing to do with stopping idiot posts. most of the idiots here can easily type more than 10 characters.

if nobody wants things initially just means that the right person was not on at that time. Some people have very specific wants or uncommon items not everyone would be interested in. I bumped my Saturn trade thread quite a few times before I got a pending trade, and I have two people I need to send cash quotes to.
