Im confused I bought a S video Input TV and the RCA S video cord, and pluged it into the back of the TV, but their is nowhere to plug it into the back of my VCR. I then saw some at Circuit city, had one S video cord with AV jack attached. so my question is...

If my TV is S video Input ready, but my DVD player does not have the S video hole, can I use the cord at circuit city that had one end with the S video connector and other end with standard AV jack(red white, yello)??

Yes you can. I would just use a standard av cable though, and use the s-video for your xbox/ps2/GC.

I'm prettysure the out has to be on the dvd player, otherwise you're just converting a crappy signal into s-video.

I have my Gamecube and Xbox on S-Video, with my PS2 on Component. It's for a better picture signal. It's fairly pointless to take an S-video signal and convert it to standard signal. Use the S-Video for the game systems, maybe buy a system selector that has S-Video in-out. You'll have to buy the S-Video cords or High Dev AV pack for the Xbox for the systems though. Various third parties make and sell them (and there's first party ones as well), with Monster being the most expensive.

Didn't I already answer this in another thread of yours?

As for your DVD player you can get a cheapo S-video cord at Wal-Mart for under $15 bucks.

Me on the other hand, I know what to do, just never used it. Does it make a noticable difference? Is it worth it?

(my tv doesnt have an s-video slot, its a bit older.)

There are special XBOX and PS2 video cables...you can't plug a normal s-video cable into it.

For PS2... you'll have this.....

Where the red, white, and Svideo will go into the back of your tv, and the black box lookin thingy plugs into your PS2. Just like it would if it were regular.

For your DVD/VHS. You would need an s-video cord that is male on both ends. Plus, your DVD /VHS would need the same svideo connector your tv has (but it should be labeled svideo out on your dvd/vhs, and svideo in on your tv).

The Xbox setup is very similar to the PS2. If you need any help post back.

Ive got an S-video TV and an S-video (Pelican 5-way) switchbox, but when I attempted to use it I didn't get a picture.

Would this be becuase the items plugged into the switchbox don't have S-video, thus meaning there was no signal to send along? Or should the box make the conversion?

Also- my S-video cable also has a full stereo a/v hookup set. So, do I have to plug in all 4 hookups, or do I forgo the A/V video plug in favor of the S-video one?

Plug in the others as well. Red and white are for audio, I believe.
